The Windsor Trooper Pub & Inn

Stayed here for a Saturday evening late November. Helpful staff went through the check in process with us. We had a large double room facing the road. Bed very comfortable and clean bedding and towels provided. Decent range of tea and coffee supplied including decaf. We did hear the other guests returning as it echoed in the hall way but didn’t really disturb us. We didn’t hear any noise from the pub other than a few people chatting as they left. Only negatives which I think the owners could consider sorting is hanging black out curtains at the window and we also only had one bedside table. We didn’t eat in the pub itself but there is a good range of drinks at the bar and the staff were very helpful. No parking but we knew that before booking. Parking is behind the college and around £12 a day and staff explained the system there. Would recommend

Nice pub and rooms. But room situated a few feet away from the beer garden. So very very noisy. Have a little one so not great. I know it’s a pub hotel but nevertheless the noise was like we were actually sitting in the garden with the pub goers. Garden shuts at ten pm but had to call reception to ask for them to close it as it ran over closing time.

I’d rate it 4.5/5. Lovely, friendly pub with helpful employees. Our room was lovely, the beer garden was wonderful, as was the coffee van parked outside every morning. It was an easy 5 min walk into the high street. The only reason I’m not giving it 5/5 is because we booked it for the sake of it having A/C, which the rooms did not have & it was very hot when we stayed…they did provide fans in every room though! Would highly recommend!

I attended the trooper with some racing friends it was the last day of the Goodwood Festival and Windsor racing in the Evening, myself and friends had a great experience as James and his team were fast and efficient in serving beer and food and they put the racing on the tv in the beer garden for us to enjoy while holding cider festival also top pub and will certainly be back when visiting the area again. there was a great choice of beer/lager or cider available. The Pies were delicious

Really good value for money. Room quite small, but everything you need in it and pretty clean. Comfortable beds. Good location, not right in the centre of town, but only a short walk and lots of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. We stayed on a Thursday and the pub has live music that night. Great singer and atmosphere. Even though the rooms are right but the beer garden, this is not a problem as they close it at 10pm. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Little atmosphere during the day and poor food. There was a problem with the fryer for the chips so was given oven cooked chips which were tasteless, anemic and soggy. Drinks are drinks so no issue there but plenty of other pubs to choose from.
