This is a great home base for visiting sites around the Navajo Nation (museums, Canyon de Chelly, Hubble Trading Post) and outside the reservation (Painted Desert and Petrified Forest, even Chaco Canyon). The hotel may be old and the rooms small, but it's clean, everything works, and the staff is really friendly and accommodating. Also, the Dine (Din-eh, the name of the Navajo people) restaurant inside the hotel is great--American, Mexican, and most importantly, local food. I think I had 5 bowls of mutton stew over our stay and fry bread galore. Generous portions and inexpensive. Love this place!
