We stayed in Room 2 and our friends in Room 3 on the evening of 12 June 2025. The location is excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. We had just completed a tour of Namibia and Botswana over three weeks or so and arrived tired on a cold evening. My wife showered first and described the water as "tepid". My shower was tepid too and then turned cold. This was the experience of our friends also in the other room. If a hotel must get anything right, hot water for a shower is essential, especially as it was so cold on that day. I discussed this with reception and they suggested leaving the shower running and then try - needless to say we did that to no effect. I showered again in the morning but, if anything, it was worse. Very irritating and disappointing for a hotel like this one. Also, suggesting leaving the tap running at the same time as the hotel advertised about the drought and how to conserve water didn't sit very well. Anyway, the hotel kindly allowed us to keep our vehicle in their car park when we went into Windhoek to buy some things before our long flight back to Europe that evening. We decided to eat lunch at the hotel before returning our rental vehicle. The food was delicious. My wife and I used the bathroom before eating and soaped up our hands only to find that there was no water. A waitress went and got some mineral water to help us wash the soap of our hands. All things water just don't seem to work at this place. Guests and staff, especially those handling food, need to be able to hand-wash at all times. Getting the hot water right seems so basic for any hotel anywhere especially with when it is so cold. Not recommended until Thule Hotel gets the basics right.
