Fantastic home from home thanks to Chris and Liz. We were so well looked after, wish we'd booked for longer. Great location for car, buses, trains and boats on the doorstep. Set back from the main road so no noise but close enough to explore the local area on foot. Fantastic room with ensuite, lovely little extra touches, fresh water and milk in the fridge for our arrival and personalised breakfast which we ordered the day before so no fuss. Sat in the sunshine with a cuppa and the Brook at our feet, relaxing after a long day exploring. Will definitely be back thanks Chris & Liz

Wonderful 2 night stay at this delightful B&B. Lovely, clean and contemporary rooms. Great location. On street parking. Fab, friendly hosts and delicious, fresh breakfasts. Would definitely stay again and fully recommend to others. Hope to visit again.

We stayed seven nights at the Rocklea guest house ( July 6-13th 2024 ) in the Castlerigg room and enjoyed our stay. The location on Lake Road is ideal being positioned between Windermere and Bowness making both readily accessible. Liz and Chris worked very hard to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and they succeeded. Our room was spacious and quiet and just the right temperature. The shower was excellent with water at just the right pressure and temperature. Everything at breakfast was perfect. We have stayed three times before at this guest house when Ian and Lynne were in charge and is as good now as it was then. We look forward to our next stay.

The guesthouse is in a perfect location (only a 15-20mins walk from the lake), our room was clean, comfy and very spacious. Our 3 hosts were wonderful and breakfast was simply out of this world (their Full English option and the pancakes were perfect!). We could not have wished for a better place to stay at and would definitely return.

We had a perfect stay at this guesthouse, the hosts, Chris and Liz couldn’t do enough for us, a mine of information on what to do in the area. Our room was very comfortable, . Nice huge bed and big shower, all spotlessly clean. The breakfast menu was fab. It was within easy walking distance to good pubs/restaurants all serving good food. I would definitely recommend the Rocklea.

The hosts Chris & Liz were very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The breakfast menu has a good choice and was always cooked to perfection. Our room Castlerigg was lovely and spacious overlooking the brook. Would definitely return.

We have just returned home from 3 wonderful days at Rocklea bed n breakfast , from the minute we arrived to leaving nothing was to much trouble for the hosts Liz n Chris , we had a fantastic room with a really big bed , a large t.v , sofa , 2 chairs and a table , the bathroom was a great size and we looked onto the beck and gardens, the breakfast was 5 star all freshly cooked and really tasty, it was a gem of a find situated between Bowerness and the town of Windermere just of the main rd so very quiet , great pub across the way serving really good food , we will definitely return Thankyou Chris n Liz .

Really lovely stay here, hosts were really good offering useful information for days out. Breakfast was really tasty and plenty of choices, room was really comfortable and on the ground floor it was advertised as a small twin bedded room but the size was ok, i've stayed in a lot smaller. Its nicely situated between windermere and bowness. Angie and dave july 2023

Had a lovely 2 night stay, lovely big bright room overlooking the lovely stream. Absolutely spotless, lovely hosts very welcoming, lovely breakfast cooked to perfection would definitely recommend, lovely peaceful B and B and only a short walk into town
