I recently stayed here at The Hilton Garden Inn with my wife for several days. We have stayed at this property a number of times, but this stay and past stay they weren't quiet what we are accustomed to. There were several issues regarding our stay. The front desk agents could not explain to me about the breakfast vouchers or points. It was very confusing. Then, when we called down to the front desk, we had asked to extend our stay, which, again, the young lady wasn't understanding my request. My wife and I went to the front desk and still had issues with explaining what we wanted. The agent was having a difficult time understanding my request, and I wasn't fully understanding her ad well. Another young lady came to the desk and asked if she could help. Later, I was informed that she was the manager. She came out and resolved the issue, explaining several things that we had asked at checkin as well throughout our stay. She was extremely friendly, professional, and great with customer services, which you don't often find. Once all was resolved, we made a long-lasting impression on both sides. I learned the origin of the young lady's unique name and her families history and found a new great restaurant to have dinner as well. We will continue to make this our stop when traveling to the area.

This was a nice hotel. The breakfast buffet was much better than I've had in other hotels of this class. Quality eggs, little Virginia ham omelettes, quality fresh fruit, sausage and the usual assortment of fruit, oatmeal, cold cereal, yogurts, waffles, bagels. Juice and coffee were good. Room was excellent. Nice desk, lots of outlets, nice bathroom counter for setting out your stuff, AC worked well. Parking covenant and I was only 10 minute drive to downtown Winchester and about 15 minutes to Shenandoah University theater. Staff very nice. Rooms clean.

We had a really positive experience at this hotel! Our check-in experience was very pleasant and easy. We were impressed by how clean and fresh the lobby was. Our room was very spacious and very, very clean. The bathroom was spacious. We really liked the area. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. It was a very quick drive to downtown Winchester, which had amazing restaurants and so much character. We extended our stay for another night and had the same associate check us in. She remembered us from the day before and put us in the same room. Once again, the room was perfectly clean and comfortable. This will be my go-to spot when in this neck of the woods!

In pics and in person the modern fresh room style is appealing though the functionality is sub-par. An example: one night table was a solid piece, no drawer or shelf with the top diameter much smaller than my laptop. Typically, a phone (use as an alarm), a bottle of water and an iPad , e-reader or book/magazine would be on a nightstand. Whoops, no room for all that and the slick surface made me nervous to leave my iPad on it. The open closet is fine, especially for me as I don't hang or put clothes in a drawer, but the only space available that wasn't in the bathroom is directly below where one would hang their clothes and right above the fridge. This could make it a perfect spot for a soft sided cooler, but this relatively small space (didn't measure, maybe 14”x20” with Keurig-style coffee maker already on it) is where one might set snacks, extra sodas, the cereal one brings because they like to eat the same thing every day and need a spot to set their cereal bowl while grabbing milk out of fridge right below. Not sure about you, but I'm not terribly comfortable putting food & dishes in the bathroom. Unfortunately, that is where my coffee maker needed to go (if I'm remembering correctly) the outlets where not accessible so Mr. Nespresso did need to go in the bathroom. Bathroom shower had some mold around the caulk area, otherwise serviceable. Not a horrible room overall, but not as nice as other similarly priced nearby chains so I'll stick to those.
