The Mary Arden Inn

It was a lovely stay very nice place indeed lovely quiet village and very friendly people.only a short drive to Stratford upon Avon. Which is a very nice place to visit. Also a good market on Saturday at wellsbourne 10 mins drive from Stratford upon Avon

I would like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Mary Arden inn the rooms where clean and towels changed daily, only one problem they didn’t offer hot food only continental breakfast luckily our friends just lived road the corner and we had breakfast there. The bar was busy and people friendly and it had a lovely open fire I would differently stay there again .

We only popped in for a quick drink. We had walked from Stratford to Mary Arden’s farm house as we hadn’t realised it was closed. The pub is enormous inside and beautifully decorated but there was only one other customer in on a Saturday lunchtime. Service was friendly.

First off I would like to say that the team are absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming. This review has nothing to do with the people who run this inn. From the outside, the inn looks lovely, very scenic and fitting with the history of the surrounding areas. The bar is nice, although we didn't use it once in our visit. The room we had was a two bed, typical one room, one bathroom. The first thing I noticed was there was loads of tiny stones all over the floors in both rooms, which I found very odd considering we didn't arrive until nearly 6pm and the check out time is 10am, so that's a good 8 hours to be able to clean the rooms. Secondly the beds were very uncomfortable, hard and my duvet had tears in it and also a red stain. The window in the room didn't close completely, the lamp flickered and got extremely hot, the wardrobe looked like it was about to fall over and the picture on the wall was wonky. The bathroom, the net curtains were torn, the shower had pink bacteria all around the edges, there was no bin in there and the whole room was just a bit dirty. All in all I believe this place could do with some serious tlc.

Met up with friends for coffee and bite to eat as advertised on their website at lunchtime. No food only drinks from the bar. Still advertises cafe on the front of the inn. Very disappointed , I know I should have telephoned before travelling. Such a shame used to be such a delightful inn to visit.

Brilliant stay!! Friendly helpful staff and lovely locals. Comfortable room with all necessaries. Lovely walks for our pooch that she loved every day. Lots to explore in the vicinity. Pretty little village with canal side walks. Will definitely stay again!!
