The Colonies at Williamsburg

You guys got it all wrong My family and friends often meet here, two to three times a year to connect. This trip was much less that good, it was honestly horrible. Upon checking in the room was hot, we were told to give it some time, so we unpacked and left for a couple of hours and the room was even hotter. Call back and maintenance came over, tinkered and notified us, it could not be fixed and we would need to relocate. So now we are packing up to move rooms and of course there is zero help. Upon the last trip out we realized my granddaughter milk was left in the refrigerator and we left the keys inside as instructed. Once we got over to the new room we called and asked if maintenance could come open the door we were told no, we had to come get the key and then return the key after we retrieve the milk. No customer service or understanding, it was clear no one cared about what we were being put through at all. In the 2nd room as we started to attempt to just exist it was clear why the room was empty. Shower broken, drain for tub broken and would not hold water, no hot water, kitchen faucet broken, 2 pots in cabinet and no other cook wear, lamp in bedroom and the lamp in the living room broken, patio screen would not close so we could not open the patio door, mosquitoes galore. Maintenance came back to fix the shower and said they grab the wrong part for the kitchen and would be back, well it’s been 3 days and they never came back. I understand things happen, but this was past ridiculous!

Check-in was a breeze. But from there on out, it was terrible. 1st thing- the room had an odd, rotten smell to it. Then we notice TONS of sugar ants in the kitchen. I can only figure something was spilled and went under the fridge or dishwasher, because that’s where they were coming from. So I called the front desk and let them know the problem. They sent a very nice maintenance man to spray, which he did thoroughly. It did not take care of the problem however. We dealt with the ants all weekend. I had to put all the luggage in the tubs, just to make sure ants wouldn’t hitch a ride home with us. Then, the beds. Oh my gosh. I might as well have slept on a slab of concrete. It might have been softer and more comfortable. I’ve had two lumbar spine fusions. Let’s just say, after two nights in that bed, I can barely walk. Even my 13 year old son is complaining about his back hurting. The general state of the unit we stayed in was pretty bad. Marks ALL over the walls. There was broken glass in the dishwasher. The trim on the transition from the carpet to the tile in the kitchen was coming apart. There were stains everywhere. And like I said, and odd rotten smell.when I had checked in, I heard the staff asking if that unit had been “fixed”. There were electrical parts laying on the vanity in the master bathroom. The unit was in utter disrepair. Needless to say, I will not be staying at the Colonies ever again. Try disappointed at how badly this place has gone downhill.

The room we first got was spider infested, less then 30 mins of arriving I got bite , contact the front desk and was given a change in room that was clean and free of spiders, beside that bad experience in the start of our trip we enjoyed our stay ,

I liked this hotel. I disliked that you had to take out your own garbage. This place is not cheap. This is petty on their parts. Also , they wanted a security deposit. This was booked as a hotel, not an apartment.

Great. Pool was fun. Outside the bustle of the burg but close enough
