The Little Hide

We stayed for 2 nights in a posh pod and loved it. We've stayed in pods before but this was by far the best one we've stayed in. The bed was comfy and the pod had everything we needed. The shower rooms are just round the corner and these were all clean and the path is well lit. The extras in this pod compared to others we've stayed in made it more cosy, and it was so convenient that there was a bed so no need to bother with camping beds. The site itself was peaceful and had extras like the fridges and microwave. It was so easy to check in by just getting the key from the keypad, simply putting it back to check out. It felt like it was our own pod for the stay and nobody bothered us, but we knew there was a number to call if we needed anything. We would definitely stay again.

The provided facilities, in terms of the fridge shack etc could do with updating and the site is a lot smaller than anticipated so we were greatful of only one other pod being occupied. Had there have been others there, there wouldn’t have been much privacy at all. Coat hooks being on the same wall as the plugs/shelf etc meant coats hanging over the kettle , but the pod itself was lovely and clean, amazingly comfortable bed. The toilets and shower blocks were very well kept and clean. Perfect for what we needed as we only stayed one night but would be put off by the lack of privacy /pods facing each other etc if was to consider returning, which is a shame.

Great place even better in summer Always great when we stay at the little hide. We have been a few times just me and my fellas little getaway. Its our peace place with out the kiddies. Lovely and quite this time of year. Was on the cold side with the weather but the heater in the pod was amazeing at keeping you toastie. The only down fall for me was the magpie that seemd to haunt me whilst there hahaha. Really funny. The cafe food is excellent good price. Absolutely love this place.

I've been glamping before, but this was completely different. The Little Hide is definitely on the glamorous side of glamping, with an electric heater and a proper bed, and is more like a hotel room in a pod. The pod is very well insulated and we had no problems staying warm. There was very little noise at night and the other glampers seemed to have gone to bed by about half 9 when we were here. The shower and toilet block is very close and is well maintained and clean. The instructions we received were clear and we had no problems at all getting into the campsite and getting our key. The location of the campsite is close to York, but be aware that taxis in York might be more expensive than you're used to. Overall, I literally can't fauly the Little Hide. However, if you're wanting to feel a bit closer to nature, or as if you are actually camping, this might not quite be for you.

We stayed at The Little Hide from the very end of August until the start of September as our first go at a staycation in York booked together. While we had a bit of trouble getting there because of an issue with buses (not their fault at all and clearly stated on both their website and booking emails, but it's much easier to get here if you drive!) we really enjoyed our night here and found everything clean and convenient. Shower rooms are large and close to the pods, the bed was the comfiest I've ever stayed in away from home and the setting is just serene and beautiful - as well as a really good nearby breakfast being available at Willow Farm Cafe. We'd happily stay here again and just stay on site rather than going anywhere else!!
