Kingsmede Bed & Breakfast

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful cottage, full of character and charm, both inside and out, on a family recommendation and wow it didn't disappoint! Chris and Kelly are perfect hosts, very warm and friendly and a pleasure to talk to. We were made to feel so welcome. Our room was spotless with an extremely comfortable bed. The ensuite also lovely with a powerful shower. A guest fridge in the hallway really useful. The legendary Full English breakfast cooked by Chris each morning certainly lived up to its reputation and was superb! All in all we had a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend. Chris deserves a medal for tolerating my husband's endless rantings about the state of the UK so will bring some earplugs for him next time, if he allows us back!

Our host Chris made us feel very welcome and the rooms were lovely and comfortable. The excellent breakfast set us up for the day. We were close to all amenities so the B & B is in a great position. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.

Stayed 2 nights as a base for a wedding at the Ventnor Botanical Gardens. The host, Chris, was very friendly and helpful; rooms spacious, comfortable and clean with good en-suites. Off-road parking easy. Very good breakfasts to set us up for the day! Would definitely return if visiting the area again, thank you!

We stayed at Kingsmede last week and had such a lovely stay. Chris was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the room was a very good size and so peaceful! Exceeded our expectations. Chris cooked fabulous, massive breakfasts and was very welcoming and friendly. His local knowledge was invaluable and freely given which helped us plan our walks. Little extras like torches (in case of power cuts - we didn't have any :-) and a shared fridge for your milk and things were an unexpected touch. Whitwell is a great location for exploring the Island and we were lucky to have a week's stay with hardly any rain. Top marks to Kingsmede and Chris & wife Kelly. You won't be disappointed.

Thank you to the proprietor Chris for a great stay last weekend. Pretty cottage, above standard comfort, and the proprietor did everything he could to make our stay as enjoyable as it was. Also, on-site parking. Dogs allowed. Use of the garden available.
