Inn on the Lake - Whitehorse

We were getting to the end of an alcan driving day when we saw a sign for this facility. Our travel luck was great because not only was it a beautiful facility it had a room available and they offered us meals even though we arrived at almost 5. They prepared a wonderful meal, gave us a great wine recommendation and did it all while hosting a bus full of folks in the large room downstairs. Flawless service. Delicious food and a beautiful location overlooking Marsh Lake. The Inn on the Lake is an example of why my wife and I enjoy exploring new places.

It is a confortable cabin although it seems bigger in the photos There is no cleaning of the room or many activities at site. The meals have to be booked previously and there is only fixed schedules to eat. Considering the location is in a very remote place with nothing around to go for aprox 1 hour, it could be advisable to have additional meals or options to offer, as not always we can settle for the fixed schedules. The place has a good maintenance and a superb location over the frozen river. Suggest a two day stay.

We stayed 2 nights at the Inn on the Lake on beautiful Marsh Lake. we lived in the Firewood Cottage. Everything was very clean, the employees were exceptionally nice and ready to help. The owner/boss is a very nice and courteous person. If we should ever be in Canada again, the Inn on the Lake is already booked! best regards from Germany Horst-Werner & Carmen

I would highly recommend the Inn on the Lake. My friend and I stayed there for 4 nights while we were in Whitehorse and loved our experience. It was so convenient to just walk out the back door and go down to the lake each night, waiting for the northern lights to make an appearance. What a place to see them, stretched out over the entire lake from one horizon to the other! No driving or large groups of people required. And sitting in the hot tub out back was such a wonderful way to end each amazing day! As part of the package we were able to use the winter gear --plenty of sizes and styles so that we were warm enough to be outside in the cold all night. The food at the Inn was fabulous. The accommodations were comfortable and modern. Carson, Jim, Vincent, and the other staff were all professional, friendly, genuine, and treated us like family. We did a snowmobile and dog-sledding tour while we were there and highly recommend both. The guides were excellent! It was incredible to dog-sled with 4-time Iditarod musher, Marcelle Fressineau! This experience is not to be missed!! Highly recommend! Would definitely stay there again if I ever find myself back in Whitehorse!

Wonderful if you stay in main building located on the banks of Marsh lake. Unfortunately we've stayed in Aurora Sun cottage which although specious was not deserving this high ranking. Smelly well water, steep stairs to sleeping quarters upstairs pose real hazard due to lack of lighting when you have to descend to use bathroom at night. Also few electrical outlets lack plate covers and general neglect is transparent. Fortunately the main guest house is luxurious and clean, staff is very polite and guest are served gourmet meals.

The Inn is a wonderful log building overlooking a stunning view across Marsh Lake. The interior decoration is subtle and elegant, with cozy common places and nicely furnished rooms. Dinner at the Inn was delicious. My wife and I also enjoyed the hot tub for some end of day relaxation. It's a nice spot over looking the lake while you hear the wind rustling the poplar leaves.
