Lovely location, step straight outside on to cobbled streets, places to eat and drink on your door step. Room was a little tired and could have been cleaner, toilet was not clean on arrival!! Locating the keys for check in was easy. Food was very good, only fault with the breakfast was the “hot plates” it was served on, despite the staff advising of this, do plates really need to be sizzling???? This is an accident waiting to happen, my partner pushed the plate further up the table for a split second and burnt his finger! Really not necessary. Would stay again, great hidden gem for breakfast and dinner.

We had a lovely stay in the Dove Cottage! There was only the two of us so it felt very spacious. All the facilities were great and the whole feel of the cottage made for a perfect stay. Becca was very helpful and went above and beyond for our stay! We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Totally loved the old dispensary accommodation at sanders yard. 400 years old. We booked via airbnb and it was brilliant from start to finish. I would suggest arriving earlier in the day. Get a car parking space in church street car park and enjoy Whitby and check in later. 24 hours car parking was around £11. The accommodation is down a tiny alley. Felt like Sherlock Holmes’s would turn up any minute. Sanders yard food is excellent and you are spoilt for choice in eateries.

Oh, what a find this was.. beautifully appointed and really good size bedroom, immaculately presented, at a great price too… all around top quality venue, in a great location.. every detail has quality… could do with anti slip strips in the shower and basket shelf for soap

This room only accommodation was perfectly located in the historic centre of Whitby. We didn't meet any staff as it was a self check in and check out and we were out when our room was cleaned. The room was comfortable and spacious with a seaside vibe and smart bathroom. There was plenty of tea and coffee as well as space for our luggage and clothing. We had a wet few days in Whitby and there was no towel rail in the bathroom or a single hook in the property for hanging wet towels after showering or wet coats and clothes. An annoying feature that could easily be remedied.

Stayed here 13-16th July. Parking not great but does tell you there is only loading and unloading. The car/ street parking is a very short distance away but good luck getting a space. We parked up at the Abbey but definitely unload first, although only a short walk it’s steep and not great carrying luggage. That’s not the fault of the hosts but just a tip we wish we’d known. We did however find a space early next morning and moved the car. Your parking ticket is for any carpark/ parking in the council area therefore if you move it you just use same tkt. Room we stayed in was beautiful and very clean. Only time I have ever travelled without a hairdryer and it’s the first place I’ve found without one, again it’s just a tip. One recommendation I’d say is they couldn’t go wrong with a wee fridge in the room. Aside that I’d 100% recommended our stay.

Had a 3 night stay in room 3 with our dog and it was perfect! We had seen the pictures online, but the room still exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. Just off one of the main quaint little streets of Whitby but so quiet. Step out of the door and you’re 2 minutes away from the 199 steps, a little beach and lots of pubs and restaurants. Super well stocked tea tray, toiletries included, really comfy bed. Definitely want to come back. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Room 3 (? Hope remembered that correctly!) Well decorated, spacious bedroom and very large en suite. Well stocked tea tray. Comfy bed and pillows. And the holey grail... plenty of plug sockets including at both sides of the bed! Such a rarity but common sense there! Nicely decorated, beautiful tiles in the shower. Well thought out finishing touches. Will definitely return for a longer stay to enjoy further. Tucked away off a main street, but so quiet you forget you're there. Very helpful owner providing answers to queries upon booking and thorough instructions on self check provided on the morning of arrival. Recommend.

Tried to order kippers at 11:20 am. Was told the lunch menu didn't start until 12. I explained that's fine, asI want them for breakfast! But apparently that's not possible. Delicious food but really need to sort out menus and staff training.
