Hotel Rex

Hotel Rex was a joy. We travelled as part of a coach party. The sea front location in this lovely seaside town is perfect. It's opposite an old fashioned fun fair, ideal for young and old! The music from the carousel stopped at 6 pm but we couldn't hear it from within the hotel anyway. The quality of the pre-selected meals was above what we expected and the choices were good. The front of house, waiting and cleaning staff were attentive without being intrusive. Ready smiles, cheerful, very friendly and polite. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The lift covers all floors. Whilst in Weymouth, do try the land train. Good fun! Simply put, a great stay for all ages.

Hotel was immaculately clean. Dealt well with vegetarian needs. Dinner was excellent. Great variety. Breakfast was also excellent with vegetarian options. Really friendly young waiting staff. Reception staff also very helpful. Location right on the sea front. Scored a 4 as in a single room the bed was also a single and was 3ft. Lots of stairs. Be aware if you are not so mobile. There is a lift but was busy.

This hotel has a great location on the seafront but unfortunately they will not let you have a Seaview room even when you have precooked and paid for one. It's clean but very basic and I think restaurant staff need more training as meal times felt rushed as staff were clearing plates away before you have finished eating. I also got told off like a child for " getting sand on the carpet" considering its a seaside hotel opposite the beach ???
