Channel View Guest House

We stayed in the sea view family room. It was comfortable and quiet. Facilities included a mini fridge with chilled water and fresh milk which makes a difference. Robes were provided and shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The only con was the bathroom. Shower pressure was very low. I struggled washing my long hair. Not much to be done about that though. The sink was very small so tricky to wash face. The host Melaney was very warm and welcoming and communications before our stay were great. Breakfast had plenty of choice, especially the pancakes! Have room until 11am on last day, so nice not to have to rush. We'll definitely be back.

I stayed in the single room for 2 nights as the base for my solo trip exploring the Jurassic coast. Melaney is a wonderfully kind and warm host, with great recommendations for food, drink, and entertainment in the area. The biggest highlight hands down is the view of the sea from the room. Falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking up to the sunrise over them was amazing - it made me want to stay in the room rather than venture out sometimes! Perfect view of the fireworks on Monday night too. The room itself is a bit dated and could do with some upkeep (scuffed walls, fading wallpaper, creaky bed) but it’s overall comfortable. The bathroom was the only overall negative part of the experience for me. The water pressure in the shower is very low and the hot water only lasted about 5 minutes each time. After a day of hiking and spending time in the sea you want to know you’ll be able to get nice and clean! The towels smelled musty and the towel rod was coming off of the wall. I would still recommend this guesthouse based on service, location, and view for this price.

Overall the stay was very pleasant. The service was very good. However there are a few points which I feel need to be said. The bed needs replacing - was very old. The towels could do with replacing as they are starting to look faded and worn. The breakfast system of three sittings is understandable as Melaney works alone for most of the time - but it would be better customer service if you weren't told when you were expected to come down. Rather a blanket time should be given so you can please yourself. Some of the bathroom facilities such as the towel rail and toilet roll holder are coming away from the wall and there are signs that the rooms need some work doing as the wallpaper is faded and worn in places. The Guest House is very hot a lot of the time - the weather was good when I was there which I am sure will account for some of it but being a small establishment and the rooms are very close together - you need to keep the windows open or you will be stifled in the heat of the rooms. However overall the stay was good - breakfast was very nice and you could choose each day if you wanted to change your options. The cold water and fresh milk in the fridge in the room is a nice touch and I loved the binoculars that are in the room - you could look out over the bay and see ships and cruise liners coming in each day.

Lovely b&b could not fault it melaney is brilliant host sea view room breakfast you order the night before again it was well nice full English plus cereals and fruit ,toast would highly recommend got the noddy train well worth the money hop on hop.off

Great location on seafront. We had a front room overlooking the ocean. We visited in April and luckily found parking very close by. Our host Melaney was most welcoming. Room was cosy but quality of bedding could have been better. Breakfast offered was simple yet adequate.

I stayed here overnight on a short visit to Weymouth. Friendly, easy-going and hospitable welcome. I was lucky to have a room overlooking the beach and sea. Wonderfully peaceful, relaxing location. Very good breakfast with many choices. Nearby is Hamiltons café also facing the beach with Italian lunch and dinner speciaIities. I certainly hope to stay at Channel View again.
