Where do I even begin? My experience at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. We booked a ‘premium’ room with high expectations, made a direct booking, and paid in advance—only to have it all completely wasted. We arrived early with the intention of dropping off our luggage and exploring the city. We requested to inspect the room beforehand but were outright denied because it was allegedly occupied. At the hotel’s kitchen, I attempted to place a lunch order but was told to wait until 1 PM, so we left for our tour. When we returned around 12:30-1 PM, we were finally allowed to see our room, and it was appalling. The room was far from ready, disorganized, and in poor condition. For the price of 6K per night, we were beyond disappointed. We immediately rejected the room and tried to reach the manager for a resolution, but despite assurances, he never showed up. To top off the disgraceful service, at 5 PM, I received a call from one of the hotel employees, accusing us of not having our lunch. He scolded us with “ye aap acha nahi kiye,” as if the fault was ours for not having a meal we never even ordered. The irony was overwhelming. This hotel completely failed in every aspect of hospitality, and I will never return. Truly, thank you for such a disastrous experience.

Located just beside the old helipad (now being turned into a ropeway), Retreat Crassula Ovata offers the most stunning views of Kanchanjungha and the surrounding mountain folds. The hotel is luxurious, comfortable and loaded with all amenities. The staff are very courteious and responsive to one's calls in a matter of seconds. However, I could not find any sfaff after 11. PM at the night of our stay. But all in all, most of the things were taken care of. Cheers.

Company policy said after a stipulated time i cannot cancel. But unforeseen circumstances did not allow us to travel but the property refused to consider at all. A bit of empathy would have helped going beyond rules and regulations. Sad

One of the best hotels in Pelling! Great value for money with well-behaved staff and delicious food. The location is perfect—right opposite the ropeway and just a 2-minute walk from the paragliding spot. Plus, the Kanchenjunga view from this hotel is unbeatable!

overall a very pleasant stay for us... excellent view of kanchenjunga from the bed.. amazing food, though the buffet bf menu should have been more lavish... polite and courteous staff, but no one is around after 9pm. good location, but local shops are 1km away. highly recommend for family travellers
