The Shark Bay Boutique Hotel & Spa

Our experience at the Shark Bay Hotel unfortunately fell short of expectations for several reasons. From the very first engagement with Touch Down Africa Agents, we found the process disorganised and frustrating. The consultants we dealt with were at times rude and did not seem to understand the value of tailoring the booking to guests’ needs. Instead, they tried to fit us into a standardised package, ticking boxes rather than listening to what we required. To make matters worse, communication between the two consultants managing our booking broke down, resulting in repeated information requests. This is not the level of service one expects from a hospitality provider and when you are booking 12 out of the 15 rooms available. During our stay, we encountered several disruptions, including electricity outages, a terrible internet connection, and occasional shortages of hot water or water altogether. On top of that, there was ongoing construction right next to the boardroom we had booked and paid extra for. This noise was very disruptive. This was never disclosed before we booked, and had we known, we would likely have chosen another venue. That being said, it is important to stress that the location is beautiful with stunning views over the lagoon. Also, none of these issues was the fault of the on-site staff. The on-site team were lovely — professional, friendly, and eager to help in any way possible. Their service and hospitality stood out and made a difficult stay more bearable.

We went to restaurant for buffet breakfast for fathersday 15 June 2025 and it was a disaster my one son landed up not getting food the chafing dishes at the buffet table werent replenished when he got the eggs .He sent the eggs back to wait for replenishment but but only bacon was brought out This is not acceptable

We stayed recently at the Villas at Shark Bay in Langebaan. Usually we avoid hotel food, but ended up at the hotel restaurant two nights in a row. These were the best prawns that we have ever eaten. Large, plump and perfectly done, together with the perfect fries (triple fried) and side salads. Dee, the chef, does a masterful job, and the restaurant manager and staff ensured that everything was delivered with a warm smile and accommodating heart.
