I booked a single night stay with my husband, in the Luxury Suite, which cost £299. This review is aimed at the room. At first glance, we both noticed the obvious sign of a previous leak in the ceiling that had been badly painted over. Not a great or luxurious first impression. The room is large, with a lounge area and a couple of empty desks. We had a balcony, which could have been really nice but the woodwork and paintwork is in desperate need of repair. The furniture was tatty and sadly our outside table only had 1 chair. The decor inside the room is very dated, with different colour paint on the walls, painted over fittings and random holes in the walls. The bathroom fixtures were almost shocking. The flush button above the toilet comes out of the wall into your hand. The shower head also swings on the wall, and the door handle is hanging on with one screw. It is clear that these had previously been repaired, albeit badly, with chunks of silicon no longer holding fixtures in place. Why are these not sorted properly before charging £299 a night? I didn’t give this review just 1 star, because the redeeming feature was the cleanliness of the room. If we hadn’t felt it was clean, we would have grabbed our bags and left. The room was clean, but it is falling apart. It’s dated and the maintenance team clearly can’t stay on top of the repairs. This is evident throughout the hotel. The paint is chipped and peeling everywhere and the decor feels old. My frustration is with the suggestion that the room is luxury, as it was anything but. I have stayed in Premier Inn rooms that have their presentation sorted better than this. The room is large, but not luxury. Asking for £299 when you have to plug the flush button into the wall to use the toilet is unacceptable. In summary, we suggest you give your cleaners a raise and hire a new maintenance team ESN!
