The Sun Hotel

Great location, could and should be so much better. Stayed 2 nights & while our room was a good size, the lack of a shower vs unpractical bath at the end of the bed did make things interesting! The common areas of the hotel are a little tired & in need of an upgrade as could the non existing WiFi. Staff nice enough apart from the misery of a bar/reception man who seems to come from the Basil Fawlty school of hotel/bar management. Ate in the pub and food & beer good, but could have done without the karaoke on full volume on the Sunday night.

Little get away Northumberland Warkworth village coast The sun hotel ✨✨✨✨✨ First to greet a Nice friendly lady on reception called Zoe Had a slight issue with the radiator not heating up bit right away sorted no issues at all She immediately changed out room and what a lovely surprise it was to Gorgeous room with free standing bath , amazing views out to the castle through two large windows Bed was nice n comfy room was hot Plenty of hot water to WiFi didn’t work / but that wasn’t an issue for us as we wanted to enjoy a lovely meal in the adjoining pub which was so cozy with the open fire and nice food We also walked into the rest of the village for Drinks very nice Breakfast was lovely to A nice lady Wendy was serving the breakfast was lovely plenty of choice Checkout was a little to early 10am 11am would have been perfect Overall our stay was lovely Can’t wait to return Thanks for a nice stay 😊

I stayed at the hotel with a large motorcycle group. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We all ate in the main Bar in the evening. Everybody said they enjoyed the food, I had the Salmon which was very good. Breakfast was also very good.

Nice and cosy looking pub. Bar tender not very amiable. Ordered two sandwiches, neither had butter on the bread so were very dry. Couldn't have a cup of tea so ordered coffee. It came in a tiny cup and was finished well before we got our food. Not very impresses.

Perfect location with the castle in front of you . Single room was nice, my bed was comfy. Staff were friendly enough. Breakfast was really nice. Evening meal wasn't as good and a bit overpriced. Only other moan wifi signal was very poor. Will stay again

I have never stayed anywhere before where the staff were so disinterested in their visitors. There seemed to be no management at all. Staff seem to be really struggling - reception is also running the bar in the pub next door. There is no-one about to speak to, no staff in the hotel at night. The hotel restaurant was shut the 3 nights we were there, as was the bar. And this is the summer season ! The lady taking orders at breakfast was unfriendly and got several orders wrong each day - giving us someone else's order on one occasion. The menu was not entirely correct - 'porridge served with a jug of cream' - no cream. Craster kippers served in many hotels in Northumberland, turned out to be yellow kipper fillets............. But, the room although really small, was extremely clean as was the rest of the hotel. It could be so much better with a manager who cared.
