Do not consider staying here under any circumstances, none of the advertised facilities were available and the property is in need of total renovation. I spent a LOT of time, money and effort coming to Waisai for what I hoped would be a once-in-a-lifetime dream diving experience in Raja Ampat. On arrival at Gurara Dive Resort it quickly became apparent that this would not happen. The resort dive shop was not open and I was unable to obtain any information on any diving or any other tours whatsoever. The sole reason I came to Waisai was for diving and at no point was I informed in advance that the dive shop is closed. They were unable to make alternative arrangements such as putting me in contact with an another dive shop. The resort itself is dangerously rundown and dishevelled, and is in need of complete demolition. I stayed in a bungalow made of rotting, mouldy wood that was full of holes, which allowed it to become infested with insects and dead insect carcasses. It also allowed rats to freely enter the room and damage my belongings. The WiFi and hot water did not work at all and the electricity cut out overnight. I left as soon as I could the following day and submitted a complaint to Agoda to obtain a refund for the remainder of my reservation. The only positive I can offer is that the sole staff member did his best to assist me and provided with some basic food, otherwise I would have starved as there are no other facilities anywhere near the resort and no local transport options available.
