Let's start with the good, the island was beautiful and the location was secluded and lovely, but that's about it. We went to LDB as part of a last min splurge to take a break before a medical procedure. We were planning to book the Ocean View Cottage for 4 nights but right at the last minute when booking online, it became unavailable on the 3rd night. We called reservations and Monique told us that she'd book the Ocean View Cottage for the 1st, 2nd and 4th night but she'd place us in the Ocean View Junior Suite for the 3rd night (at double the price). We were concerned about moving so much, but she said not to worry, because when we arrive, if there is a cancellation, she'd move us back to Ocean View Cottage for all 4 nights and refund us the difference for the 3rd night. OR if it's not available then we would get upgraded to the Ocean View Junior Suite for all 4 nights at no extra cost. She said there were still 5 Ocean View Junior Suite rooms available the week before our stay so it shouldn't be a problem to upgrade us. We agreed to this arrangement. When we finally arrived on the island, we were met with our butler who immediately told us he had 2 rooms to show us. He first took us to the Ocean View Cottage #10, which was lovely and we said we were fine with it. We asked if we needed to move on the 3rd night and he said we may have to but that he wanted to show us the Junior Suite. We went and saw the Suite and we actually much preferred the Cottage. The Suite was much bigger but it was very dark and most of all it didn't have a hand-held shower head in both the bathtub and the shower. We have a 5-year old with us so that would be an inconvenience. We asked again if we needed to move if we chose the Cottage but he couldn't give us an answer. Instead he tried to upsell us to stay in the Suite for an extra $1500++. This was not the arrangement! We went back and forth and he said he will discuss with the manager. He literally showed me his phone where his manager texted him 'try to upsell them to pay for the Suite'! We tried to explain to him like why would be pay extra for a room that we don't even like. We wasted so much time discussing this and finally decided to spend our first 2 nights at the Cottage while he figured out if we can stay there for the 3rd and 4th night. The next day, we went off the resort and visited the Savannah Bay, the Baths and Spring Bay, these were the highlights of the trip. Upon returning, we followed up with the butler and they still had no answer if we needed to move the next day. After dinner, we went to Reception to see Monique, we know she worked night shifts. We waited an hour and she said she finally figured out a way for us to stay at the Cottage for the 3rd night and there was a cancelation but that she needed the manager's approval for the refund and that the butler would let us know by 10am the next day. The next day, we waited at breakfast and we asked the butler if they have heard anything. Nobody
