Lofoten Basecamp

We splurged on the 3 bedroom cabin and were not disappointed. This was our FAVORITE stay of the entire vacation! The rooms were fitted out with everything you could need. Clean and comfortable. But the absolute best part is the view off the back porch. We actually were lucky to catch a small pod of whales (nise) go by as we enjoyed our coffee. The staff were GREAT. Will go back.

This hotel is located just A 2-2,5 hours from the city of Å. Great place to stay although you have to make your own breakfast. Saunas are also available, unfortunately they were fullu booked this time and we were not able to experience those. Good place to stay if you are heading for the Lofoten.

Lovely peaceful views over the water. Living space was small but comfortable with a small sofa, a table that could be folded out, a coffee table and limited cooking facilities (microwave and hob). The shower didn't have anywhere to put soap or shampoo except the floor. The sink had limited surround area for toothbrush. The hooks for towels were so high up on the door you had to be a giant to use them. The bedroom was very cramped. No bedside table or lamps. The bed was pushed against one wall and there was only about 5 inches gap on the other side.

It’s the 4th rorbu (suite/cabin) we stayed in Lofoten, Norway. It’s not far away from Lekens city, about 10 mins drive.We stayed 2 nights here. It’s close to Leknes for shopping, and hiking areas are all around, with the closest being available around. The rorbu (cabin/apartment) was very new, clean, spacious, styled and equipped with modern technologies. Everything is very practically laid out and convenient, with three bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Kitchen/living room has a stunning view through large window wall towards the fjord, and a huge terrace with a big garden with benches. Perfect for bbq and picnic food and drinks during summer. In addition, there is a beautiful sauna on premises that can be used, and a swim in the ice cold water followed by a while in a hut sauna, can really be soothingly comfortable! The host was also very nice. The checkin /out is contactless with using a small password key locker in front of the door. We stayed our last two nights in this rorbu in Lofoten. Honestly, it was quite hard for us to leave, we didn’t want to think about leaving and prayed clock ticking slower, as we just loved so much being in this calm place, far away from busy life.

Great place. Great accommodation. Great host…even brought us a drink in the sauna (which BTW has the best view from a sauna in the world!). The two bed place were stayed in was well supplied, warm and with a decent shower. There’s plenty to do locally - hiking, walking, fishing and, if you’re brave enough, swimming!!
