La Villa Roseraie , Hôtel Familial OUVERT TOUTE L ANNEE

This hotel offers a good way to visit Vence without feeling hemmed in by tourists. The best things about the hotel are its quiet location, the in-room air conditioning, the swimming pool, and the on-site parking. Note that the English-language description of the hotel on ********** incorrectly states that bed sheets and towels are not available. Of course they are! The location of the hotel is convenient: it is just a few minutes walk to the busy narrow streets of the historical center and is about ten minutes walk to the Matisse Chapel. Another advantage of the hotel is that it is very quiet because it is not right in the center of the crowded town. The hotel is small with only a handful of rooms which makes it cosy. For those people arriving by car, the hotel has convenient on-site parking which costs 8 Euros per night (you need to reserve the parking). Note that the entry to the hotel is on a lower level and you have to go up some stairs to get to the rooms and pool. Nina who greeted us at the reception desk was friendly and helpful. We stayed in room number 2 which is on an upper floor and looks out over the terrace and over the garden next door. The bed was comfortable; the bathroom is small but fully equipped and includes a walk-in shower. Best of all, the in-room air conditioning was very much appreciated and allowed us to get a good night's sleep during July's heatwave. The swimming pool is a major bonus at Villa Roseraie. After a day of sightseeing, it was great being able to take a refreshing dip in the attractive pool and then relax on the loungers. Special large blue towels for swimming are stored in a poolside basket. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room and offers a small range of the usual items, and there are trays so that you can take things out to the terrace and eat in the fresh morning air. But, the quality of the food was fairly disappointing. For example, if you are looking for healthy yoghurt or healthy cereals you will find only sugar-filled options. And, instead of serving bread and pastries from the local bakery that is situated just a few steps down the road, the hotel instead offers unremarkable packaged items from a supermarket. There are a few other things that could be changed to improve the hotel. First, in the terrace and pool area, outdoor speakers play rock music from early in the morning until nighttime. The music is a distraction from enjoying the garden and the Alpes-Maritimes views especially when eating breakfast on the terrace o relaxing by the pool. Second, the room contained a small refrigerator but the freezer compartment needed to be defrosted in order for the fridge to be effective. Third, the room contained a scented deoderiser machine that leaves an artificial perfume smell on clothes and luggage. To summarise: Villa Roseraie is a great place to stay when visiting Vence. Although a few things could be improved, we would consider staying here again.

My son and I had a wonderful 12 night stay at Villa Roseraie. The rooms are immaculate and the pool is very clean. There are very comfortable sunbeds and it is never crowded at the pool area as the tourists are out sightseeing. The airconditioning works perfectly and the breakfasts are outstanding: fresh, good quality, abundant and variety! I would love to return to Villa Roseraie in the Spring as I found July a bit too hot! The ladies who own the hotel were willing to do everything to make our stay as wonderful as it turned out to be. They are very caring and hospitable. It is also a perfect location as it is very close to the historical center and many other villages to explore nearby. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, you will find it in this charming hotel. It is an oasis tucked away yet very close to everything!

À FUIR: Nous avions réservé la suite-balcon pour notre fils et sa fille de 14 mois et pour nous les grands-parents, une chambre double au même étage, vue sur le jardin. Réservation confirmée par un mail émanant de l’hôtel. Nous avons eu une chambre vue parking au premier étage, télécommande de la climatisation « égarée », robinet qui fuit dans le lavabo et à la place de la suite balcon, une chambre mansardée au troisième étage où l’on peut à peine tenir debout. Nous n’avons pas pu changer car toutes les chambres étaient occupées lors de notre arrivée et c’était l’heure du biberon qui reste prioritaire. Promesse de remboursement de la différence entre le prix payé et la prestation jamais tenue. Pour le petit déjeuner, je dirais simplement que les couverts étaient en plastique et le reste à l’avenant.

Un petit hôtel très bien situé à deux pas de la vieille ville. Une literie très propre et confortable . Un accueil très chaleureux. Un petit déjeuner très complet et très bon ( du vrai jus d'orange !!!) . Le cadre extérieur doit être refait avant l'été ( piscine , bar ...) . Notre chambre( comme d'autres) avait une petite terrasse . Le seul.bemol : le parking ( super pour nous mais peu de place si beaucoup de monde. On reviendra .

Affichage trompeur ! Beau bâtiment mais pas du tout professionnel, les chambres ne sont pas faites, pas de papier hygiénique, le petit déjeuner est très bas de gamme, demande insistante de payer une partie du séjour en espèces (que nous avons refusée) !

Chauffage pas assez puissant pour la surface donc nous avons eu froid.salle de bain fraîche et odeur d' humidité. nettoyage moyen, surtout la baignoire encrassée.ne mérite pas 3*, je ne recommande pas.
