The chalets at L’Ermitage are exquisite. With 2 en suite bedrooms, they are perfect for a family visit or two couples sharing. There are nice walking or biking paths along the river where the birds will keep you entertained. Johan and Linda are charming hosts, and be sure to go on a game drive with Johan to see the rebred quagga as well as golden oryx, golden wildebeest, sable, buffalo, and other small antelope.

A tranquil setting with wonderful views of the river. Great for birders, we enjoyed watching kingfishers from the dining table. Everything you need in the chalet is there. It is clean and well maintained. The hosts were helpful and friendly. We loved our stay and would definitely come back.

After staying there - we understand why all the reviews are 5 stars. The place is as great as the pictures! The off the grid lodges are separate from each other - lovely layout and beautifully furnished. There is an out door and an in door braai fireplace plus a closed indoor one - making it cosy in the winter. Nice game drive - buffalo, quagga, springbok, golden wildebeest and oryx. Good communication and any requests / queries answered with a smile.

A wonderful 3-nght stay; quiet and scenic location by the Berg River. Kids could roam free. We had a great game drive to see the quaggas and other animals - thanks to Thomas and Henrik. The chalets were clean and very comfortable and we had amazing sunset views. Highly recommended.

We really loved our stay here on the Berg River. The lodges are beautifully appointed and all the staff friendly and helpful. Our only wish to something extra was for comfortable outside seating/ Loungers, but it did not spoil our stay.

It is a very well equipped and designed house, the bathrooms and bedrooms are large with loads of cupboard storage. Kitchen fully equipped with appliance instructions where needed. A wonderful fireplace that kept the house warm and cozy. Very large central area with inside braai. I will definitely go again.

Well where do i even start the host & hostess ... Johan you guys rock... they let you feel so at home... Asking us we if are safe on the road ... and my lil birthday prezzy.. ag the place is soooo beautiful too... everything is beautiful... the game drive was bliss... so a YES from me....

Linda and her staff were amazing and did everything they could to make sure that our stay was comfortable. Cleanliness was top priority. Beautiful sunsets. Lots of bird life. Unit was very well thought out. Indoor braai and fireplace was just awesome.. Perfect place for some rest and relaxation. OH and NO loadshedding.... Our time was too short, will definitely be back.
