Casa Do Antonio

We had a great stay here in Velas as part of our Island hopping Azores trip. Antonio and his team couldn’t have been more helpful- the breakfasts were delicious. You are right in the centre of town, with the local restaurants all nearby. The natural swimming pool is 5 mins walk away and Antonio kindly provided towels. Recommend the natural pool at Faja do Ouvidor on the other side of Sao Jorge if you get the opportunity. All lovely, thank you Antonio and team for making us feel so welcome

We recently stayed here for four nights as part of a walking holiday in Sao Jorge. We were lucky that we had booked the sea facing turret room as it was lovely and spacious with a nice balcony to sit on and watch the activities in the harbour. Antonio is an amazing host supported by his team. We arrived very early Sunday morning and our room was available straight away and we were also invited to have breakfast. When it was time for us to leave we were on the ferry to Faial in the evening. We were able to leave our bags at the B&B for the day but then we also had the opportunity to have showers and freshen up after a hike in the morning. Antonio provided us with fresh towels and was happy for us to wait around until it was time to leave. He is a talented artist and potter and I loved seeing his work in his studio. I will admire my ceramic magnet that he gifted us every time I open the fridge. In summary this is a well located, exceptionally clean place with comfortable rooms, beautiful places to sit in the garden and a very hospitable host. Highly recommend this place.

An excellent Bed+Breakfast,ideally located in Velas , perfect reception by Mr Antonio himself .Rooms and service very good. Excellent ratio "value for money"! The only negative point is in our opinion the rather poor quality of breakfast... Thankyou Antonio, we shall come again and recommend you home to our friends !

Very good location, very nice manager (Antonio), nice rooms. Breakfast was good, though not with the choice of an hotel We also had a room with a nice view on teh secondo floor Al in all a very good stay

Ottima posizione nel centro di Velas. Entrando attraverso una porta che dà su una piccola strada azzorriana si apre un accogliente cortile verdeggiante. Il personale è disponibile, Antonio (che sa l’italiano) è un vero artista e ceramista (nella foto ci sono delle sue creazioni che abbiamo comprato come souvenir)

Ich war einige Nächte als Teil einer Wandergruppe hier und weil die Casa do Antonio sehr klein ist, hatten wir das schöne Haus fast für uns. Die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe eingerichtet und es handelt sich nicht um ein typisches Hotel, mehr eine Pension. Ich hatte die Suite, so dass mein Zimmer besonders groß war und eine eigene kleine Terrasse hatte; eine gute Aussicht auf den Pico haben aber alle Zimmer [wenn der nicht in den Wolken verschwunden war]. Ansonsten sind die Zimmer gut ausgestattet und ich habe gut geschlafen. Ich war auch Fan des umfangreichen portugiesisch und englischen Satelliten-TV-Programms. Wir haben das Frühstück in einem hübschen Raum eingenommen, in dem auch immer Kaffee und Tee verfügbar waren und am hat uns leckere Picknicks gepackt. Antonio und seine Familie, sind wundervolle und hilfsbereite Gastgeber, so dass wir uns alle sehr wohl und wie zuhause gefühlt haben.
