Palazzo Sant Ursula

I knew this room/place would be old, but thought old and quirky. But it was just old and dirty. Firstly the open windows wouldn't close, the door handle was falling off and locking the door took about 5/10 minutes. The bedding was lumpy & dirty. I tried to see which bed was less so, but when checking them out I found live bed bugs. I arrived at 12:30am and left at 01:00am. Edited to add: Whilst I wouldn't stay here under these circumstances, the hosts are very responsive and communication is very open. They have been very kind going out of their way to return something of value I forgot in my very short time there.

great location; inside Valletta city walls. a very characteristic and unique place. smooth & easy check-in - sent details via WhatsApp prior to my arrival (access code, videos of how to enter, where to find my room etc.) bed was comfy and room quiet enough - i slept really well. the rooftop terrace is great too! there’s lighting up here so you can sit up there of an evening.

Returning to Valletta where I had stayed in a boutique hotel, I found this palace in a quiet back street. Jean, the owner, sent me thorough details, including a video, about getting into the property, and also several recommendations for nearby eateries. It's an ancient building full of antiques and bricabrac, and with a jungle of plants, loaded with the sort character you would never find in one of the hotel chains. The staircase to the roof (be careful in the dark) reveals a gorgeous view of the Three Cities. Two warnings: I found the beds in my twin room to be quite narrow, and some mosquitoes found me, so repellent is advisable. Apart from that, a stay that was memorable for the right reasons.

I pro di un soggiorno in questo ostello sono l’estrema gentilezza e disponibilità del proprietario e la posizione, in una strada tranquilla nel centro cittadino. I contro sono relativi alla stanza. Noi abbiamo trascorso alcune notti in una stanza del palazzo principale ed è andato tutto bene. La notte nella dependance, però, è stata negativa, sia a causa del caldo estremo (non sono presenti ventilatori né aria condizionata), sia per la visita di due scarafaggi, uno dei quali di dimensioni spaventose. Di conseguenza, il voto finale deve essere una media tra queste esperienze.
