Hotel Riche

Nosy rooms, cold shower, even after complens nothing was done with it, diner food was colt, every night loud music, verry outdated hotel. Never again it was ferry disappointed, the holiday was compley to the drain, we had a 5 days arement bud after 3 days we packet and went home. A totally disapontment.

It was only 1 night but it was a very pleasant stay. Location is perfect . Rooms Where clean and the bed was good. Also the included breakfast was good . Very friendly staff. Parking next to the hotel for 8€ .

The room was excellent food superb and service was also very good. Would certainly recommend this Hotel. Also very close to a bustling Town Centre in Volkenburg and a superb Supermarket within 200 yards of the Hotel.

Heating didn't work in room, Extremely cold and slept in our clothes, couldn't shower because no heating in bathroom either, given a takeaway breakfast because very few guests, at a time when the corona rules relaxed. Uncomfortable and cold

The hotel was warm and comfortable, beds were good and the room was more than adequate. Good bar area with plenty of seating. Food was a limited choice of two mains that you ordered at breakfast, soup to start, and a dessert, all the food was first class. The location was excellent being only a few hundred yards from the main part of the town. Generally the staff were friendly but two of the bar staff did not like the British. We watched the World Cup match with Netherlands and joined in the support, but the following day the bar staff would not allow us the have the sound on the tv in the bar which spoilt the viewing and left a bad taste. All payment had to be made in cash. English credit cards allowed. Debit cards ok but by negotiation with the manager. Yes we would go back.

We stayed on a 4 night break at this hotel as a base to see the Christmas markets in Valkenburg as well as Aachen & Cologne with Leger travel (coach tour). It is ideally located in Valkenburg and within 5-10 mins walking distance of the underground caves/attractions/bars/restaurants etc. The hotel staff were friendly & worked very hard. They do need more staff though but that seems to be the same everywhere at present. Consequently they worked long hours & tried their best. Very welcoming. The short speech thanking us on the last night and congratulating us on our new King & Queen consort was a nice touch & much appreciated. There were a couple of days where the service was a little slower due to the above. Food was good but only 2 choices of main course each day. Another nice touch was the free tea & coffee machine all day & the paper bags by the breakfast items to allow you to take rolls etc for your lunch or days sightseeing. There were several occasions where some people in our coach party complained to staff members quite loudly & rudely which was unnecessary & quite embarrassing. There are ways of complaining without being rude. This at the end of the day is a 3 star not 5 star hotel & as mentioned previously the staff were doing their best with a full hotel not just our group. Thank you for an enjoyable stay. Please don’t think all English people are as rude as the ones mentioned. We enjoyed the hotel & your lovely town/markets very much.
