I try to be as objective as I can. First of all, managing expectations is very important here, this is no Hilton or Marriot and we are in a small city in a remote area of Mongolia where a lot of residences still have outhouse for toilets Facade. Not very convincing as it is not maintained. Understandable because weather is very harsh here Lobby. Quite pleasantly surprised and relatively modern where they sell some drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. It is also quite clean as everytime we came back from the festival/outdoors the lady was always wiping the floor. Breakfast is really really basic. No one speaks english at all so thank you google translate. Stairs. Do not expect help from the front desk as they are basically a 3-person operator of the hotel. You gotta carry your own luggage up. The handles/railings can be wobbly but its not dangerous or anything Room. Since theres 4 of us (2 adults 2 teenage girls) I have the end room where there is a separate living room. They provide a folded extra bed with no padding so I end up sleeping on the sofa instead. Linens are clean and the furnitures are new. I dont find any problem with cleanliness in general. Heating in room is actually overdone so we had to open the window at night to sleep comfortably. Since I am on the 3rd floor i figured its pretty safe. Lock was using an electronic card (which i end up paying 50.000 tugriks because i lost it :P). They provide kettle but no refrigerator and no phones. Universal electric plugs are plenty and all working. I didnt turn the tv on when we were there. Wifi not available on my floor. Bathroom. Random pipes from floors above and below traverse the bathroom and they do become quite noisy when someone else in other floors use the bath. Water pressure really really choppy, at times you can suddenly lose pressure but for me hot water is always there even at 1am. There is a bathroom cubicle which is nice so the water dont splash everywhere BUT ours have a leak at the bottom so the floor end up wet anyways, it is also pretty small. Toilet paper is inadequate and soap is uselessly tiny but we brought our own toiletries and the supermarket across the road sells toilet papers. Location was pretty much walking distance to all the things you will likely visit in this town. It is a pretty small town after all. I saw very young children walking around the area all by themselves so its pretty safe. There is also no noise since around us are all residentials and the hotel isnt on the main road. There are 2 supermarkets, one directly opposite and the other one about 3 mins walk and they are stocked with essentials Service was ok as everything we requested (extra towels, extra pillows etc) were quickly addressed. Overall my party is satisfied with the basic function of the hotel.
