I have stayed here many times and hotel still delivers good value and accommodation. Ideally situated for my business requirements. Sometimes struggle to park (depending on arrival times) but good view across the river. Room was a good size with a fabulous mini bar! Everything you need. WiFi connection is free and fast, comfy bed and good power shower. I actually ate in the evening but found the menu limited however, my choice of food was well presented and was fine. Breakfast was cooked fresh (which I prefer) again, limited selection of pastries, no greek yogurt only a few flavoured yogurts in sealed plastic cups (supermarket type). Overall, this hotel is fine and a good option if visiting Twickenham or Teddington.

I think we may have been given an upgrade, as the room was far bigger than I expected. It was beautiful, with an enormous, supremely comfortable bed, a sofa and coffee table, and a little nook with armchairs and a table. The decor was shabby chic, with emphasis on the chic. There was a well stocked honesty bar and an array of beautiful glasses. The bathroom is lovely. I would absolutely stay here again.

Stayed for 6 nights across 2 bookings and 2 rooms. The first was a twin room which was huge and had a beautiful big window and view. 2nd was a boutique with balcony. Both rooms were large and really nicely styled, very comfy beds and furnishings. Well stocked mini bars, Nespresso machines etc. If I could make one small improvement it would be give the bathroom in the twin a lick of paint and improve the furniture on the boutique balcony. But small tweaks as the rooms are gorgeous. The staff are a credit to this hotel. They are busy and multitasking! But are so friendly and welcoming and treat you as part of the family rather than just another nameless guest. Would 100% return.

This amusingly-named hotel is located on the actual site of the garden of the villa of the real Alexander Pope (1688-1744). This is a lovely location with a view of the Thames and proximity to Radnor Gardens and Strawberry Hill, and within a pleasant walk of many other historical local attractions. The room was comfortable and reasonably well appointed, with an excellent bed and an updated bathroom - though the faucets are a bit high tech. Don't expect traditional front desk service; you should seek out the manager somewhere in the restaurant and he will look after your check in and check out needs. The Pope theme is relatively tasteful and well done by transatlantic standards.

well after reading the review we were quite excited about staying here. we were greeted by a nice friendly face when we arrived. The room was lovely, and the toiletries were amazing. my sister even went on line and bought some. we went for a rest and to freshen up, then met our family down in the bar. it's a lovely space, although the light features could do with a cobweb and a dusting. the barmen (didn't see any females) were quite miserable really, we had a faint smile from one. next morning a full English, looked very nice, but luke warm. my sister asked for a hot breakfast, it came back hot. they had cooked some more eggs for her, but the yolks were broken, which had leaked over some of the other items on her plate, and not their fault she doesn't like egg yolk. a breakfast should not have broken fried eggs on the plate, that's just bad manners! she felt she couldn't complain again, like i said, they weren't very happy. the family came the next night to dine, everything was fine. except, the batter was overcooked, one of the fish was dry, glad I had mine lightly battered. not only that, but there was more tartar sauce than mushy peas. a nice touch was curry sauce, but there was only a fork full of mushy peas, and they were nice. I have never been anywhere, where there was more sauce than veg. the morning we left, the lady on reception was nice and friendly, as was the young lady serving breakfast. would have been a far nicer stay, if there was bit of warmth in the air, and i don't mean the heating. we did have to ask that the heating was turned down in our room at night we are northerners after all.

We stayed at the Alexander Pope hotel last weekend when we were in London for a family wedding and booked three rooms, including for elderly relatives. Other family members also stayed as it was near to the wedding venue. What a wonderful and hospitable place to stay. All of the staff, from reception on arrival to bar staff and breakfast staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, even facilitating an early check in for one of the rooms so that we could get ready. Parking on site is a huge bonus. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with all the amenites you could need for the night and we had lovely river views. Great location too! Thank you! One small thing (but a big one if you are older or have any sight impairment) : The lighting in the rooms is lovely and atmospheric but it would be really helpful to also have a brighter practical ceiling light that could be switched on too as some of our party struggled a little to see in the room at night.

Came across this hotel after my original booking was cancelled. The hotel is perfect for access to the city but also heathrow airport so it worked well for my needs. Food and beverage is of a high standard, with a large range of spirits, beer and wine. I will certainly return and would recommend.

Having stayed at the hotel many times before, I was extremely disappointed with the room that was provided this time. The receptionists are never at the desk on arrival, & when they did arrive, no apology just given just the usual what’s your name, can I take a card for any additional spends. Then handed a key to a room, that had 2 single beds when a double was requested, no upgrade rooms available so house keeping amended, at first glance already wasn’t great as had Dead flies scattered on the door & then realised after dinner that there was a constant stream of water running behind the walls through the bathroom all night. Having already been told the hotel was fully booked & no upgrades were available on arrival, I made the receptionist aware at check out to be told, ‘oh that’s not good, I’ll let house keeping know’! Fingers crossed house keeping were made aware & are able to fix the plumbing issues!
