The location in the centre of the town is good in terms of being able to walk to restaurants and bars if required, and the church car park next door had plenty of spaces to park. Absolutely everything else was awful. Paid €190 for overnight bed and breakfast - no warning that there would be any drawback to the room selected, it was no cheaper than any other option. On check in, the room was a little dingy as the curtains were closed. I soon found out why they were closed, as I opened them to find our room opened directly onto the smoking area for the bar downstairs - I find it hard to believe that this is legal? On a hot evening, our choices were either to leave the window open (there is no air conditioning) or live with the smoke in the room. In addition, there was quite a bit of noise, shouting, and music. I contacted the reception immediately to say that we needed another room, this was not acceptable. I was advised the only room they could offer "would be worse as the sink in the bathroom has a problem" The following morning, the breakfast was not good. Coffee was terrible, no pastries available (though they are advertised), and the other items were greasy and stale, at 8am. My room card stopped working at 9am, although checkout is 11am, and I couldn't get back in after breakfast. I went down to reception to have the key reset, and was met with a breezy "oh, sorry about all your trouble last night" with a smile from the receptionist. I told her that the stay was not good and I was very disappointed. I said that I would like to make a formal complaint. She advised that the owner would be in contact with me in coming days to discuss it, and that was the last I heard about it. No contact from the owner, no offer of any partial or full refund, no real apology. Avoid this place like the plague, unless you're a smoker on a hen or stag night - ideal for you then, apparently it's grand to smoke in hotel rooms in this place.
