The place is run by a few old ladies and an old man. They speak little to no english, but do their best to communicate. The staff was very polite. I booked this ryokan via the Kinosaki tourism website. It was about $500+ (including breakfast and dinner, and a pass to all the onsens in the area) for my partner and I. The rooms are traditional Japanese rooms, with only a toilet with bidet, and no bath, as the baths are shared. Check-in time was rather late, 3pm, but they allowed for baggage storage at the place while you go walk around. Upon checking in, you can immediately choose your meal times and private onsen times. However, you cannot choose which of the 2 private onsens they provide. The meals were really good and filling. There is a lot of food, definitely worth whatever price it is. However, this isn’t the ritz, and if you would want a more luxurious stay, there are other ryokans there with better location, at a much more premium price.

¥27,000 on a Sunday night. The staff were quite welcoming, and our ice bucket came quickly. They were very helpful with the yukata wearing (harder than it looks for women). The decor was 1970s, and the interior of the room had such ancient features as a huge steel safe (with key), old tatami, a dial phone, one outlet, a 1970s fridge, a thermos of hot water and a 1970s/80s washlet in a tiny toilet. Stained carpet on the sitting area overlooking the river, train tracks and road. The train is not all that frequent, perhaps once an hour, but it and trucks passing by were quite audible. Small, rundown public bath, but they did provide an onsen ticket good for 24hours at seven baths in town. Dinner was in another room identical to ours that had been set up for dining. The food was excellent, but no descriptions of the dishes. When we asked for a second ice bucket at 10pm the man at the desk (owner perhaps) said there was a ¥400 charge.

2月に行きました。 価格が安めで料理が立派という前評判でした。 料理は口コミ通り、すごく量が多かったです。 部屋は昭和な感じで、少し掃除ができていないように思いました。 冬だったのですが、エアコンの効きが悪かったです。 部屋のサイズとエアコンのサイズが合っていないかもしれません。 旅館の方は丁寧に対応いただけました。 城崎温泉からは離れているので、札などを目指す方は不便かと思います。
