Sugar Mill Hotel

Really warm and welcoming location -- and owners/staff. Beautiful (albeit small) beach and pool. Comfortable suite complete with refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, outdoor shower, balcony, and separate bedroom. Made for a special mother-daughter trip.

My husband and I stayed in room 103. What an amazing place! Very clean and well appointed. The view was breathtaking! I love the double glass front doors. At the pool there is an honor bar which is ideal for grabbing drinks for the room. There was a bottle of champagne in our fridge for us. The outdoor shower is so cool! Ate at both restaurants, and both were fantastic. I hope to stay here again!

It can be difficult to find accommodations in the Virgin Islands. Prices are often higher than in other Caribbean islands, or if they are in the lower tier, the rooms can be bare-bones: adequate, but not luxurious or comfort-focused. Sugar Mill Resort strikes that rare balance between affordability and luxury, feeling like a splurge without the upper-price-range rates. Moreover, they do it while offering a personal and welcoming atmosphere; you get all the benefits and privacy of a hotel stay, but with the warmth of a bed-and-breakfast experience. First impressions can make or break a vacation stay, and Sugar Mill Resort really understands this. Upon our arrival in the early evening (after a very long and stressful day of travel), Andrea welcomed us with gracious hospitality. She had already reserved us a table for dinner, and she checked us in efficiently while we sipped our complimentary Prosecco and took advantage of the cool towels offered. Another staff member brought our luggage to our room and showed us where to find all the amenities. Then we headed back to the restaurant and had our first of three outstanding dinners - every night we tried a different entree and appetizer, and we were never disappointed. (My favorite entree was the fish pie, with a puff-pastry crust. But really, everything was delicious.) Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean; housekeeping came every morning and refreshed our space. The bottled water, coffee, and ice maker were so useful - we could start our mornings in a leisurely fashion without foregoing our morning coffee. We did add on an island tour (worthwhile!) and a rental car, so we got to see more of the island than just our little corner of paradise. Andrea and Rupert made all of those experiences pleasant and easy. The beach picnic lunch provided with our tour was delicious and decadent, with bubbly wine and dessert included. It seemed that all our needs had been anticipated. We only stayed three nights at Sugar Mill, on the front end of a yacht charter, but it was such a lovely experience that I intend to come back for at least a week next time. What a great and relaxing way to begin a vacation in the BVI! Thanks, Sugar Mill, for exceeding our expectations.

We spent our 10th wedding anniversary at the Sugar Mill. We had the most amazing time, from the moment we arrived everything blew us away. We stayed on the all-inclusive package, and both the dining options and the included tours far exceeded our expectations. The catamaran tour of the islands was beautiful, we learnt so much about the BVIs and it was a day we will never forget. The day tour of Tortola in the car was also an unforgettable experience and we visited some beautiful secluded beaches and island highlights. The food was brilliant even night, and even after 10 nights we felt like we hadn't tried half of the options on the menu. The drinks included on the package were of an incredible standard, I felt like we were on a wine tasting experience every night! The hotel.is located near long bay, on the quieter side of the island, and we felt so immersed in the Caribbean vibe. The hospitality in the hotel from everyone was top class and there were also other bars/restaurants and short walk away if you wanted to try something different. Can't wait to visit again!

We spent a perfect week at Sugar Mill. Our villa was beautiful and spotless. Plenty of room and very comfortable. We had a large patio with lounge chairs and a table. The mini fridge was well stocked and our favorites were replenished as needed. The ice maker was a great touch. The outdoor shower was fun and beautiful. We opted for the all inclusive plan, highly recommended. The food was beyond fabulous with a great variety. Both restaurant settings are very picturesque! The small beach and pool were lovely and relaxing. Some decent snorkeling in front of the resort. All of the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Andrea and Rupert go above and beyond to ensure a fabulous stay. The boat and island tours were both extremely enjoyable and well organized. We loved the small boutique experience. Tortola is a gem! Hope to return soon!

from the moment we were greeted at the Sugar mill bar, to the time we departed, we were treated as special guests. Rupert and Andrea went out of their way to make our stay special. dinner at the restaurant was excellent, and beat our expectations. Our room was very well equipped and very comfortable with unreal views of the water. we highly recommend the Sugar mill Hotel, and cant wait to return next year. Mike and Debbie Petroff
