The Chesterfield Guest House, Torquay

The Chesterfield Guest House is very clean and comfortable and great value for money. The owners of the guest house made us very welcome and were very easy to get hold of when we had questions for them. We have stayed there two times before and have booked up for 2025 already.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Chesterfield. It is absolutely remarkable to see how the hosts put their whole heart into the guesthouse. We felt very looked after and their provided guest app was super helpful for restaurant & activity bookings. The guest app covers a whole lot of different topics including check in/check out, various recommendations (some even including discounts), safety and general information about the place etc. We visited quite a few restaurants/places recommended by the hosts and none of them did disappoint. We probably won’t be back anytime soon unfortunately but if we decide to visit Torquay again we will make sure to book with The Chesterfield! ☺️ Greetings from Germany

I contacted the owners in advance as my train was due in 2 hours before check in & the forecast was heavy rain. They ensured my room was ready for check in from late morning so I could head straight there from the station. It is self service check in, something I've never done before but it was so convenient & the instructions were very clear & easy to follow. My room was very clean, a great size & very comfy. The bed & pillows were so comfortable & the shower was lovely & big. I couldn't fault it. There is a tea/coffee tray & although I don't drink either I did enjoy a hot chocolate & the tasty biscuits. On each floor they have trays with additional toilet rolls/teas/coffees so you can top up when you need to - brilliant idea & so convenient. Although on a busy road it was quiet at night & I didn't hear noise from anyone else, in fact I don't know if anyone else was staying there as it was so quiet. I slept like a baby every night. There's a communal living room with a bar/honesty box & a little snack shack set up by one of the children. I didn't use this facility but again I thought it was a great idea. There isn't a breakfast option but that didn't bother me as it meant I didn't have to be downstairs by a certain time & I wasn't eating the same thing every day for breakfast. It gave me the freedom of getting up when I wanted & strolling down to town to pick where I had breakfast - perfect for me. It's also conveniently placed, a short walk to the sea front, close to the train station & there are 2 corner shops a very short walk away. Overall a great stay & you don't feel smothered by the owners, it's a very relaxed place which is exactly what I wanted. I can't recommend this place highly enough, if you want somewhere peaceful & relaxing then this is the place for you. I would 100% stay here again if I visited Torquay again.

We had a great time at The Chesterfield G.H. Amanda's place was incredibly cosy and clean, and everything was done with great taste. If we're ever in the area again, we'd love to stay there. It's a good choice and good value for money. Thank you!

Lovely accommodation, the room was spacious, very clean and well kept in a great location within easy walking distance to bars and restaurant. The hosts were lovely, warm and friendly and looked after us very well, overall a very enjoyable stay.

I have to myself & friends had the loveliest time . Amanda could not do enough for us . We were able to replenish anything we needed from the trolley on the landing outside. We were offered the parking space at the back as well. As the penthouse wasn't using it . And the honesty fridge I think is absolutely brilliant . Would deffo stay here again
