We have stayed at this hotel several times since it opened about 2 years ago, however we will not be returning until things have been completed. The hotel is clean and good location and we have always been a fan of Premier Inn and have stayed at several around Torquay and this is the only one that you can guarantee a car park space - which when you are travelling with 2 cars is a must! The main issue is the car park, which is situated next to the hotel and is run by the local council. There is meant to be access directly from the car park level via stairs/lift into the hotel. However although the stairs are built, the lift has yet to be finished. Therefore you have to either carry your luggage down 3 flights of concrete steps, or walk down the car park entrance down a small but very steep corner, neither is a nice option if its raining or dark. And then you have to travel up to the first floor to the reception (but at least there is a lift inside). Plus, the hotel spaces are at the far end of the car park .. its only a few hundred meters, but when you have had to walk up 3 flights of stairs or a very steep corner - with luggage and children - its not ideal. As mentioned, the hotel itself is great but with the car park situation is just too much hassle.
