good location, but bad cleanliness, poor communication, and not foreigner-friendly.
Location is convenient — close to Machiya Station with lots of convenience stores nearby, and we liked the idea of self check-in.
But even though we booked a triple room, they always only gave us 2 sets of towels. We arrived at 9pm and had to find the third bedding ourselves in a storage room — and it was super dirty (see photos). I’ve stayed at many hotels in Japan but never saw such dirty bedding.
We emailed the hotel but didn’t get a quick reply — they said urgent issues could be handled via LINE (Line isn’t a globally used app😅why not mention that earlier?). It felt like they weren’t ready to help international guests. Luckily, an employee named Miki helped us late at night and brought clean bedding, but it really shouldn’t have been this difficult.
Also, during our stay, it was hard to get any response from them. Email replies were super slow, and communication was frustrating. We could only get help through Trip.com. Staff couldn’t speak English and had to use a translator.
