Fantastic Yala Safari and great little hotel! We had a great time staying here - and went on a great Jeep safari with Pasanna organised through the hotel. The whole family (2 teenage boys) were totally enthralled by the safari and would totally recommend Pasanna! We went on the full day safari (starting at 430am … totally worth the early start to be the first in the park!!) - which allowed a full day of immersion and a slightly more relaxed pace. (The half day safaris seemed much less relaxed…). Pasanna the driver/ guide has over 13 years experience in the park, had great 4wd drive skills, clearly knew all of the possible routes in the park - and was passionate about showing us all that was possible in the park! He was excellent at spotting hard to see animals! Note that all jeeps have to have 12-2 as rest time in the park …. We easily passed it having lunch and reading books- when the jeeps are not allowed to drive around) . We managed to see a great selection of animals including 2 leopards (which I hear is very rare), multiple families of elephants with their babies which we were able to watch for an extended period of time, water buffalo, deer, samba deer, mongoose, jackals, monkeys, peacocks, lots of amazing birds, crocodiles, monitors and bats. It truly felt like the jungle book. We got home tired, but truly satisfied with the experience! Definitely felt like it was value for money.

Firstly I'd like to say that the room, hotel, grounds and surrounding area are lovely. The room is huge, nicely decorated and blooming lovely. The rest of the hotel has a very warm, welcoming and cosy feel to it. I wasn't able to try the hotels breakfast as I left early the next day for the safari that the hotel had organised for me. There's parking, aircon in the rooms. But it's safe to say that the pictures don't do the place justice. hmmm... the negative. There's a few little things that stopped the place being fantastic. When I turned up I was greeted by two of the hotels assistants. Suffice to say that their greeting was a bit frosty. The complete polar opposite as to what I'd experienced at the other hotels I'd stayed in around Sri Lanka. They looked at me as if I was going to rob the place. So, before going to my room I order from the menu what I'd like for dinner and then say three times and pointed to the menu, that I'd like a coffee. It never came. No biggy, but it's the little things. Next, prior to my stay, I got in contact with the hotel about a Safari. Twice the hotel confirmed the price. Low and behold, when I get to the hotel I'm told that the price i was told was in correct. Of course the price was more expensive. It's silly it's never cheaper is it haha. So again this leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, because it's not like the hotel doesn't sort these tours on a regular basis. Lastly, it would have been nice to swim in the pool if it wasn't turning green.

De hecho, encontré la banda elástica cayendo frente a los invitados en el baño. Todo está bien, la hora de la comida es relativamente fija, comenzando a las 7:30 de la noche, tenía mucha hambre. Pídale al gerente que ordene el safari en la recepción, y el desayuno estará lleno por la mañana, que es relativamente rico. Básicamente, el tiempo suficiente para volver a bañarse y salir.

We stayed for 2 nights in Leisure Villa with Uchith and his family who were so friendly and welcoming. We were picked up from the train station and on arrival greeted with flowers, refreshing drinks and homemade coconut cake. The whole family went above and beyond to ensure we were happy. The place was very clean and we were made to feel very comfortable. Uchith organised our Yala safari trip which was incredible. Followed by showing us around Tissa, exploring the history of the village, temples, lakes and wildlife. We also tried some very tasty homemade Sri Lankan food during this stay - it was delicious! Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Tissamaharama or wanting to visit Yala National Park.

We had a pleasant two night stay at the Blue Turtle Hotel. The room was decent and clean enough, though a bit dark. The bathroom was very spacious. The pool was nice, though not sparkling clean. The restaurant was good, and despite what some other reviews say, we found the food to be fine. As we had paid for breakfast with the room, they kindly packed it to take with us when we left at 4.30am for a safari. The staff were very attentive, and the manager even supported us with directions to drive to Dikwella as we were checking out. The location of the hotel is not that great, though it does the job for people who need to stay in the area in order to be picked up for a safari. On a separate note, it is quite shocking (and off-putting) to see how defensive (and borderline rude) some of the hotel's responses are to the less favourable reviews on here. Especially those highlighting challenges relating to accessibility etc. The hotel should remember that platforms like this are not only channels to make valid complaints, but also for guests to share their experiences to help others who might have specific requirements.

La piscina del hotel es buena, la calidad del agua es mejor, la piscina es también grande, puede obtener 5 puntos; El Wi-Fi del hotel es muy lento, básicamente no puede utilizarse, una mala evaluación de 1 punto; El hotel está listo para una comida de cuatro puntos; Las condiciones de vivienda son una población, no esperes que sea demasiado alta; El hotel al lado del Parque Yala, las condiciones son muy generales, y es posible que así sea. En cuanto a la embalada del parque nacional de Yala, no se apresure. La embalada de jeep es un precio común para la asociación de mercado. Por tipo de auto 13000-15000 Ruby cuatro horas y media al día, se duplica todo el día, el billete del parque es comprar solo. Todo lo que se ofrece con un paquete nominal, tanto la presentación del conductor como la recomendación del hotel, es un engaño en la mensajería. Ten cuidado de aclarar los ojos y preguntar claramente el precio y el detalle!!! ¡El viento de Yala no es muy malo, no se esfuerce!
