Lifehouse Spa and Hotel

Loved it. When we got there all problems were sorted on the spot. Loved the gardens too.

Hotel was amazing and the Spa area was unreal . Had a dinner reservation and the Service was really bad. Kept having to ask for things . Items i ordered never came and servers avoided eye contact so we ended up having to wait ages to be served . Food was like warm at best. Very expensive and the costumer service was simply not there.

I was a little concerned reading the reviews beforehand but we have just got back from a one night stay at Lifehouse Spa and we had a brilliant time! Emma at the front desk was fabulous throughout our stay and was really helpful with our many questions. Our room was ready when we arrived slightly early at 11am and we had a beautiful view. The spa facilities were great and were reasonably quiet, we never struggled getting a lounger. (I did email beforehand to ask when they were quietest and went with their suggestion of midweek so opted for Wednesday-Thursday.) We had breakfast, lunch x2 and dinner during our stay and all of the food was delicious. Would recommend the duck ragu for the starter! If we had to make any comments for areas of improvement, sometimes the food could take a little while to come out but we didn't mind really as we weren't exactly in a rush to go any where. The front desk was really helpful when we were checking out of our room but staying to use the spa facilities and looked after our luggage. We also got given a map to go for a walk before we left and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. Would definitely visit again!

We have just enjoyed a two night stay our room was a garden room which was lovely sitting outside our room over looking the lake x the grounds are beautiful and well kept x the Spa has everything you need we also did the double massage together which the girls did a good job x the breakfast is nice and everything you need x the staff are all polite and helpful x we had a lovely lunch outside was very nice as the weather was hot x

Having booked this spa stay quite some months earlier we have been looking forward to it for a long time. Originally we booked for 2 days and extended once the two days ended as we wanted to spend more time with family and they had a great offer going as well. The reason I have given 2 stars is due to the lovely reception team. Emma I believe the lady's name is, she is wonderful, Daryl as well is great and very helpful. The facilities are nice but after being here a couple of years it hasn't been updated at all. The sunbeds are extremely uncomfortable unless you get the ones next to the lake. The mattresses are not the most comfortable but again forgivable as the first room we stayed in for the initial 2 days was great, but once upgraded to a garden room it was awful. Our garden room upgrade features a shower with a drain hole with whenever the water starts kicks up a smelly drain. Now for the worst thing which has completely changed our experience here this time. The restaurant staff are so unbothered with the guests. Firstly I ordered a mojito upon arrival, what I received was a glass full of mint syrup, small layer of crushed ice on top and a couple of mint leaves. After complaining about this and sending it back a proper mojito came out with dried lime wheels ice and torn mint leaves and lime wedges. Not a problem. We were booked for cream tea at 2.30pm. as we requested one guest not have fruit scones but just plane ones, for some reason this took 40 mins extra being served at 3.10 pm even though we pre-ordered this and none of us got fruit scones in the end all were plain. Again we was willing to let this go. Now, this is where it gets annoyingly bad. As we extended our time we was offered 4 coupons for free prosecco. We decided for lunch on the first extended day lets have a glass, we ordered at a bar which was not busy, we noticed a little sweet older lady trying to order at the bar and being told to order at the garden shed instead after cueing, even though there were at least FIVE STAFF MEMBERS on and not more then 5 tables out on the terrace and most drinking only. We was told to go and wait at a table and someone would bring this out to us. Well, 20 mins later no prosecco. So. Finally got up to the bar where all FIVE staff members are in a room at the back talking no manager to be seen, and ask for my drink to be replied..."have you not got that yet, sorry I will bring that out if you go sit down at the table." Thankfully the drinks arrived promptly after. But I noted the amount of staff members and the young lady and gentlemen to busy flirting then being able to serve the older lady or make our drinks right away. That evening we had a lovely dinner at the restaurant cannot fault but the blonde lady who served us knew what she was doing. We booked a last minute mid-week one night spa break. I have heard lots of good things about Lifehouse from friends, so was looking forward to it. We arrived and was greeted by a very pleasant man on reception. No complaints so far. The grounds of the spa are lovely. Our room was clean, although it was incredibly hot during the night, and no air conditioning. There was a small fan in the room, but it wasn’t enough to deal with how hot the room was at night. As we were on the ground floor, we couldn’t really leave the door open. As a result, I didn’t get a good night’s sleep because it was so hot. Also, an iron/ironing board wasn’t available in the room, which I would have thought would have been standard (although, we didn’t ask for one admittedly). The spa area itself is OK - it looks a bit tired and the Salt Therapy Room was closed (and from reading other reviews, it looks like it may have been closed for some time) - I think the spa area is probably overdue a bit of TLC. It has potential to be really nice. I booked an additional deep tissue massage, and my therapist was Kieran. He was very professional and I had a fantastic massage - was worth every penny. Both dinner and breakfast were really nice too, good portion sizes and a good selection of options to choose from. Overall, I think pricing is a little on the high side for the offering for the rooms and the spa area, but we did have a nice time and will be returning at some point.

Fantastic stay food staff spa was all amazing our room was massive and really comfortable with everything you would expect for a nice stay the gardens are stunning highly recommended from us we loved it and will definitely be returning Jay Ellie

Really enjoyable day. My partner arranged this as a birthday treat and it was lovely. Very clean environment, well organised and helpful staff. I had my first ever massage (with Lauren) which was a 10/10 experience. Lunch in the restaurant was good quality, and I think fairly priced for the location. Restaurant staff, in particular, Monika and Nicola were very helpful and polite. Really enjoyable experience all round. Thanks, we’ll come again. PS - the grounds are beautiful
