Having booked this spa stay quite some months earlier we have been looking forward to it for a long time. Originally we booked for 2 days and extended once the two days ended as we wanted to spend more time with family and they had a great offer going as well. The reason I have given 2 stars is due to the lovely reception team. Emma I believe the lady's name is, she is wonderful, Daryl as well is great and very helpful. The facilities are nice but after being here a couple of years it hasn't been updated at all. The sunbeds are extremely uncomfortable unless you get the ones next to the lake. The mattresses are not the most comfortable but again forgivable as the first room we stayed in for the initial 2 days was great, but once upgraded to a garden room it was awful. Our garden room upgrade features a shower with a drain hole with whenever the water starts kicks up a smelly drain. Now for the worst thing which has completely changed our experience here this time. The restaurant staff are so unbothered with the guests. Firstly I ordered a mojito upon arrival, what I received was a glass full of mint syrup, small layer of crushed ice on top and a couple of mint leaves. After complaining about this and sending it back a proper mojito came out with dried lime wheels ice and torn mint leaves and lime wedges. Not a problem. We were booked for cream tea at 2.30pm. as we requested one guest not have fruit scones but just plane ones, for some reason this took 40 mins extra being served at 3.10 pm even though we pre-ordered this and none of us got fruit scones in the end all were plain. Again we was willing to let this go. Now, this is where it gets annoyingly bad. As we extended our time we was offered 4 coupons for free prosecco. We decided for lunch on the first extended day lets have a glass, we ordered at a bar which was not busy, we noticed a little sweet older lady trying to order at the bar and being told to order at the garden shed instead after cueing, even though there were at least FIVE STAFF MEMBERS on and not more then 5 tables out on the terrace and most drinking only. We was told to go and wait at a table and someone would bring this out to us. Well, 20 mins later no prosecco. So. Finally got up to the bar where all FIVE staff members are in a room at the back talking no manager to be seen, and ask for my drink to be replied..."have you not got that yet, sorry I will bring that out if you go sit down at the table." Thankfully the drinks arrived promptly after. But I noted the amount of staff members and the young lady and gentlemen to busy flirting then being able to serve the older lady or make our drinks right away. That evening we had a lovely dinner at the restaurant cannot fault but the blonde lady who served us knew what she was doing. Working as a restaurant manager myself I know how to run a restaurant well. Breakfast has always been good too I would like to note. Now, day two of extended stay, we decide to use our second
