The Marine Pride Beach Resort & Spa

First time in my life i have come across a hotel WITHOUT TOWEL in bathroom. We checked in hotel at around 3 PM. By 5 PM my wife realized there was no towel in bathroom. After enquiring with housekeeping, we were told no fresh towel was available as all went to laundry. Till next day when we checked out, hotel has not provide us towel. We had breakfast included in our package which had only bread, idli, chutney and sambar in menu. We told them to provide milk for my 6 yr old daughter. They CHARGE Rs 50 for it mentioning milk is not included in the breakfast. Worst part was we had to stay WITHOUT ELECTRICITY after 6 AM till we check out at 9:30 AM as their generator had ran out of fuel. THIS ALL facility we got after paying exorbitant Rs 7600/- for sea view room. Its location is in a village more than 4 km away from varkala beach and has no other food option other than than relying on hotel itself. NOT AT ALL WORTH TO STAY

The property is located a little away from the hustle bustle of Varkala cliff, perfect for families. The location is unbeatable, at the top of a cliff with all cottages providing a wonderful view of the sea. I was apprehensive about the service as read in other reviews, but it was top class. My dinner order turned out one of the highlights of my trip, Fish Molly was a delicacy that I’ll remember for my lifetime. Breakfast can be improved and my cottage AC was working slow. A feedback passed on which was promptly noted. The owner makes it a point o meet the guests and check on the well being, it’s definitely a place I’d recommend and visit again.

One of the worst resorts in Kerala. They denied complementary breakfast saying the chef is on leave. Knocked at the door at 12 in the midnight to see how many of their rooms are occupied. They put us in pathetic situations multiple times. Receptionist is so rude that he will even threaten you. So disappointed.

Though it is highly rated in tripadvisor and ***********, dont get carried away, the property is more like a lodge. It is 6kms away from Varkalla proper. Rooms are filled with mosquitoes, there are hair strands in the "fresh towels" they provide. breakfast has ants and when u complain, the staff will just remove the ant and keep the same set of breads there. The watermelon juice had ants. Food is bad. The door latch breaks in the evening and housekeeping is unavailable after 5pm. It is definitely not worth the money they ask for.Do not go there if you are looking for luxury or peace. The extra rating that i gave was only for the location as it is next to the beach. The beach has crabs so unsuitable for beach activities. Think twice before choosing this property.
