Good selection of options on he menu with welcoming and accommodating staff! Service was quick, food was great and prices very reasonable. Doors open early in the morning with breakfast options also available which is a bonus. Will definitely be back again in the near future.

Wow what a great stay. A lovely pub with a beautiful room. Amport is a chocolate box village. The pub has a great terrace looking out on to a green area, with loads of seating, the green leads to a clear stream. It can get busy especially when the sun shines! Meals were well presented and food was of a good quality Good breakfast too. . The bedroom I was given was lovely with a well stocked courtesy, butler tray. Extra supplies were available on the corridor. Nice touches like charges for telephones etc , Nespresso machine and pods. Very clean. Good shower and nice towels. I could go on but I think I have made it clear that this was a good stay! Very close to the Hawk Conservancy for those interested! A gem of a place. Friendly staff.

When I first stayed at The Hawk Inn a few years ago and again last year I was impressed with the quality of the items in my room but after this recent visit I was surprised to find that this is no longer the case. For example, although the radio was a quality product the fan looked as though it was £5 from the bargain store. I had paid extra to up upgrade from a Comfy Double Room to an Elegant Double Room but found that it was a very small "elegant double". There were no drawers in which to put your clothes and just one rail in the wardrobe, the other side of the wardrobe being taken up by a small fridge which wasn't working and a bin. The shelf contained a kettle, a Nespresso coffee machine and the hospitality tray with the coffee pods, tea bags etc. As this was inside the wardrobe a torch was required to enable the safe use of these items. The suitcase stand could not be used as there was no room for it, one person could put their suitcase under the table and the other suitcase had to be placed in a corner of the room, thus impeding the access to the other side of the bed. There was nowhere to sit in this Elegant double room except one hard dining style chair at the desk or the edge of the bed, which was sagging from being used as a seat. We found that there was nowhere to hang the large towels after use as the towel rail was not stable so we hung them over the wardrobe door and the shower. There was no lounge or comfortable seating area in the restaurant/bar area for a family group to sit although there were the bench seats outside on the terrace where you could meet up with the rest of your party. I will not comment on the service at dinner although the choice and food was generally good. BEWARE - the child fee meals advertised are only for the younger children and if you have a teenager they will have to pay the adults price for meals from the main menu. ALSO BEWARE that the 12.5% service charge seems to apply to everything that you put on your room, 65 pence for pouring two half-pints of beer! The good bits were the location, close to the Hawk Conservation centre and that all of the staff were very friendly, helpful and apologetic. There were chilled bottles of water that you could help yourself to and the complimentary packets of biscuits were very tasty. Also that the bar staff made an excellent liquor coffee.

We used to love going to The Hawk. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful setting and above all really good food. The menu was interesting and different and unique. We used to love the sharing platters, excellent and inventive main courses and irresistible puds. Last night was a bitter disappointment and ridiculously over priced. Menu now reflects every other venue... Burgers and fish and chips or pie. Very annoying to have 12.5% service charge slapped on automatically altho they offered to take it off. I spoke to the bar person afterwards about it because important to say but I don't think anything will change. Very sadly I won't be going back until they do something unique again.

We called in without a booking and we’re found a table immediately despite being full and very busy. The staff were friendly and very helpful and food was excellent. We will be back with friends who live nearby

We stayed just for one night at The Hawk Inn but wished we had been able to stay longer. The whole experience was excellent from arrival to departure. A key factor has to be the staff who were, without exception, friendly and professional. Everything seemed to run smoothly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. On top of that the place looks lovely, there are great amenities such as in house Nespresso machines, our room was great, the bed ultra comfortable and the restaurant food excellent as was the atmosphere . As the weather was a bit ‘meh’ we didn’t get to explore the immediate area as much as we would have liked, but we plan to return when it’s warmer and stay at the Hawk Inn again.

Staying at the Hawk was wonderful. The service was excellent and the room was lovely. had a lovely view of the sourrounding area and the garden across the road. The bed was delightful, so comfy best nights sleep ever. The location was slightly of the main road but once you got used to the local roads it was easy to find. Staff excellent, very friendly and very helpful. It was just a little dissapointing to learn when we arrived the kitchen was closed for the evening, and no prior warning was given. It didnt affect us but for anyone coming in this could have been a problem. Prior bookings should really be made aware if the lkitchen is closed due to how far from the centre of Andover it is. Overall a very nice one night stay.

So lucky to find this lovely place on line when we needed a lunch venue convenient to the A303. The setting is gorgeous and the journey through picture box villages is so worth the small detour (literally 5-10 minutes). The staff are efficient and friendly and nothing's too much trouble. The fish and chips and fruit crumble to follow were particularly appreciated! The coffee was excellent too. Would definitely drop by here again. We didn't stay overnight but I'm sure the standard of accommodation would be similarly high.

Stayed here recently for four nights. Very comfy with an excellent breakfast. Stayed clear of the bar of an evening and the restaurant seemed expensive. Had a few drinks in the local Andover JD W great and cheap. Excellent fish and chips near the cop shop. We thought the village was charming with thatched cottages and friendly residents . Handy for the hawk centre and Stonehenge.
