Disappointing. There was a sign saying not to use the jet’s in the spa bath. The dishwasher was broken (good job we didn’t need to use it). The sheets were really sort of crispy and very noisy every time you moved in bed. Also, some sort of music with a heavy bass kept us awake most of the night. For the price $249 for one night, I expected better.

I’ll be honest, I expected much more from this Quest after reading the reviews here on Tripadvisor. However, expectations were not met. I paid $400 for a one night stay here (2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit on the ground floor, literally at the front entrance of the apartment and next to the reception area). Car park was not even included, which cost $15 a night extra. The apartment was very dated. The carpets were not clean and truly, I think they need to be changed. The occasional furnitures felt like an afterthought in the apartment, and the sofas were, you guess it, not the cleanest, and should be changed too in my opinion. The TV was placed in such a way that we had to move the sofa to face the TV - truly bizarre. The bathrooms were really dated and one of the toilet seat’s soft close mechanism was broken. The apartment was nowhere being modern/luxurious and I would say it is very basic. However, they are clearly not charging you at a basic rate for their units. Something is clearly not adding up here. On a positive note, the location of the apartment is such that it is within walking distance to a lot of good eateries.

Stayed one night on the ground floor in a studio room. Room is quite comfortable but the shower is over the bath and has quite a large step to get into so could be quite dangerous. The main reason for my low rating was the jackhammering that commences at 7.30am and goes until 5pm. We noticed the construction next door when we were checking in but didn’t realise the closeness and loudness of the constant jackhammers. It was literally a metre from our room meaning we couldn’t even have our curtains open as the workers could see straight in. We asked at reception how long it would go for as we had checked in around 3pm and they couldn’t tell us. Also enquired about what time it would commence in the morning and still not sure… It would have been nice to have been notified that there would be construction noise which may have let us choose a different location. The building is nowhere near complete so I suspect there will be noise for a lot longer. Hotel is close to the esplanade and restaurants, recommend the Redoubt down one block.

Underground parking available for $15 per night. Rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable and the 2 bedroom units boast full kitchens and laundry amenities. We had a lovely large outside area but this can be accessed by all rooms on the ground floor (so make sure you keep your doors and windows locked). It’s within walking distance of some very good restaurants (highly recommend Lone Star 2 blocks down) and shopping. It really needs some attention and money spent on it. Though there are 2 bathrooms they both need significant work done on them to bring them up to date and the broken furniture on the deck must be thrown away.

I had to write a review on how helpful, friendly and forward thinking Sanah is from Quest on Durham. I have worked in the Events and Hospo industry for so long and I can honestly say she is one of the best in the game. Nothing was too hard, I had a group booking that had to postpone due to Covid and she had already thought to hold rooms, even in case we needed extra. Sanah, thank you for being great. Ask for Sanah, she is so helpful and friendly.

Lovely friendly greeting upon arrival. Free parking just across the road ( on weekends). The room was a great size - balcony had a bit of a view of the water . The apartment was lovely and clean and the bed was super comfy ! Location is awesome - walking distance to many great food places. Free wifi too which is always a bonus!
