Mercure Barnsley Tankersley Manor Hotel

We stayed in March 2024 had a good experience then, but this visit last weekend 11th May 24 was very disappointing we found the room dirty with insects crawling around under the bed, we asked to change room which we did but found the same problem which i pointed out to the night receptionist, he came up with a 3rd room clean luckily at midnight, now very tired we slept well and spoke to reception at check out who offered us a complimentary Breakfast which was nice but doesn't make you want to return again if the rooms are presented to you so dirty please see photos i did write to the hotel manager on 13th May but as yet have received NO reply

We recently had our wedding at Tankersley manor in the Crook Barn. The first time we saw the barn we absolutely fell in love with it and just knew it was the place we wanted to get married. From day one we were supported every step of the way and Jess was on hand to answer any questions we had and to offer support and suggestions which made the planning process so much easier for us. All of the companies/people that were recommended to us were absolutely fantastic and all went above and beyond for our day. On the day, Abigail and the team were absolutely fantastic. They could not do enough for us, everything was already thought of and accompanied for to make sure the day ran smoothly. Our guests commented on how attentive, helpful and friendly the staff were. Everything just ran seamlessly from the beginning to the end and we cannot thank you all enough for that! We also had so many comments from our guests saying that the food was the best they had ever had at a wedding so a big thank you to those behind the scenes too! We, along with many of our guests stayed in the hotel and were all really happy with our stay and the breakfast was fantastic too! We cannot thank Jess, Abigail and all of the team enough for making all of our dreams come true and making our day so special. It ran so smoothly from start to finish and was an absolute dream! We are so happy that we chose Tankersley for our wedding day, we only wish we could do it over and over again. We couldn’t recommend Tankersley anymore and we would recommend to anyone for their special day, ours truly was the most perfect day.

A week since what our guests are calling an ‘Epic Wedding’ Jess from day 1 in September 2022 you have been an absolute star! You always found time for us and our million questions. You were thorough and informative from the start and your commitment to your brides & grooms was second to none. Nothing was too big or too small. In the end it felt like catching up with a friend. Abi, the contact and effort put into our day was amazing. I never worried about where anything was, where I needed to be and how safe our personal belongings were you,were an absolute star! Even if I couldn’t find my veil the morning after the wedding … bloody drunken groom threw his stuff all over it, when you knew how special it was and placed it so carefully into our bridal suit. As far as I am aware the whole day ran smoothly. (If it didn’t then you did a cracking job of hiding it) The rest of the hotel staff were lovely, everyone went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and that our weekend experience was one to remember. The spa was lovely, my guests made use of that the day before. The food was delicious, I’m still getting comments…. Canapés, wedding breakfast, evening buffet (Indian and kebabs were a hugs hit) even the breakfasts and meal in the restaurant the night before. Thank you for everything, we are still beaming. We had our wedding at Tankersley Manor in September and it was absolutely perfect! The wedding coordinator Jess was amazing from our first visit to the day itself and couldn't have been more helpful. Luke, our wedding manager on the week of the wedding, was absolutely lovely and made everything run smoothly despite how hectic things can be on the day. The food was great and the DJ kept the dancefloor full all night, we couldn't have wished for a better day. I just wish we could do it all again!

We recently got married at Tankersley Manor and WOW, where to begin?! From the minute we booked nearly 2 years ago to the wedding day itself Jess was completely incredible. We cannot praise her highly enough, we knew from the minute we visited and met that she knew her job inside and out and trusted her wholeheartedly with our big day! Nothing was ever too much, no question too small and she was there every step of the way. There were a fair few changes for guests closer to the wedding which had us in a mild panic but Jess was totally unphased by it all, which just goes to show how good she is at her job. On the day, we were looked after by Luke and his team (Freya, Shannon, Rhi and Nicoletta) who all made sure everything went smoothly and again, nothing was too much at all. From speaking just before the wedding to the day itself, Luke put us at ease instantly and was there for anything we needed. Everything was organised and the day ran like clockwork - completely on time and everything as it was supposed to be. The food was great, the service was excellent and the guests really enjoyed everything. We had a few comments about how the food service was the best they’ve had at a wedding as it was all really quick and efficient. Given that there was also another wedding on the day in the other suite and then also another private function too, I cannot fault anything at all. I cannot praise the Tankersley Team enough. Our big day was amazing and we are eternally grateful for everything they’ve done for us. We can’t wait to come back and relive it all again!

Had a wonderful afternoon at the Spa with my Partner, thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We also had treatments, Debbie gave me a fantastic facial and my partner had Pippa for a back massage which he said was fantastic and she did a 10/10 job! The only downside was when I used the showers afterwards, there was no shower gel whatsoever, this clearly was a mistake as they hadn’t been filled but a little inconvenience when paying the price we did and the changing rooms could do with a spruce up/looking after a little better. Other than that, great afternoon!
