Hotel suite not functional and poor service We were disappointed in this hotel. We booked a 2-bedroom suite for 3 people but the room had supplies for only 2 people. On our first night there, we had no TV service, no hot water in the sink, and a toilet that would not refill. A hotel employee came to our room and spent hours trying to fix the problems. And we spent the first night of our stay stuck in the hotel room assisting him. Although the hotel management was apologetic, they were never able to get the TVs working. We had also requested an in-room safe prior to our arrival and were provided only a small portable (2-lb) safe that offered no security and malfunctioned. On the following night, we asked the front desk to arrange for a taxi to take us to the ferry port in the morning. The next morning, at the time of our departure, we were told the taxi had not been arranged. They called a taxi for us and were told that the ferry port was not open that day due to winds, so we had to go to another more distant ferry port. We ended up missing the next ferry out of that port and had to wait 3 more hours for the next ferry. This resulted in us arriving late and losing our rental car. Although it was not the hotel’s fault that the ferry was not operating, if they had scheduled the taxi for us, we could have been notified of the closure sooner and have made it onto the earlier ferry in the other port. We expected better service, and functioning utilities and appliances for the amount of money we paid for this hotel.

I rarely write a review but this hotel was so annoying that I feel obliged to warn other fellow travelers. We ordered a twin room. We got a double bed and a sofa. Only one light switch worked in the bathroom. Good enough to shower but not to put on your makeup. The kitchen consists of a coffee machine, kettle, fridge and sink. Considering it’s suppose to be a suit hotel - it hardly lives up to its name. Although it is very near the beach, at least our room had no view of it. I suppose the other rooms also lack it. On the other hand, it is about 2km from the Kasbah. Hardly worth it for a taxi but too far to walk. In short: get a different hotel. There are plenty of them in Tangier.

Imagine getting to your hotel at 630pm to check in after a long day of sight-seeing in the cold and rainy weather with your family. It’s evening time and you’re chilly, exhausted and everyone is ready for a warm shower and cozy bed. You get inside your room only to notice it’s uncomfortably cold. You turn on the thermostat to the heat setting and go to wash your hands and notice there are no towels anywhere. You dial the reception to request towels and the housekeeper brings you 3 bath towels even though there are 4 people on the reservation. No hand or floor towels were provided and the floor tiles are cold under your feet in the bathroom. You ask the housekeeper why the thermostat isn’t working and she tiptoes around an answer and says the system is down. At this point in the our experience, we’re increasingly agitated and ask for heaters. The houskeeper said “she will see what she can find” and when we asked for 2, she said she could bring 1. We told her that we need one for each room because my 1 year old and 3 year old would both need heaters since they sleep in separate rooms. Again she said that only 1 would be provided. I dialed the front desk back and ask why we were not informed about the heat situation and he dabbles around an answer and eventually says, “isn’t the maid bringing you a heater?” By this time it’s 8pm and I’m on the phone with Orbitz trying to solve our problem. Orbitz offer us to switch hotels but we were reluctant to do so with it already being so late into the evening and having to scramble to find new accommodations on a whim which could accommodate a family with young children and we had already ordered dinner by room service. Housekeeping brings the heater and it’s an old radiator style heater. I told her she will need to bring extra blankets for my toddler since the heater will have to go in the room with my baby. She is clearly annoyed with us at this point and brings 1 blanket. We were not able to shower ourselves that night or our baby & toddler because the room was too chilly. When we were getting ready for bed, we see that in the second room with 2 twin beds there are no blankets, just a top sheet. We call again and ask for another blanket and the housekeeper begrudgingly brings another. I ended up getting sick from the food an was vomiting by 1230am. The beds were hard and the springs are loud and the room didn’t reach a comfortable temperature until about 230am. In the morning we moved the heater to the bathroom while we went to breakfast so it would be warm enough for us to shower. This property is deceitful and stingy. We checked in around 630pm and they did not disclose that the hotel had no heat at check-in. Went to wash my hands and no towels were in sight. They brought 3 towel’s despite there being 4 people on the reservation. We requested heaters for the baby & toddler and they said they would only provide one which was an old radiator style heater. There were no blankets in the second bedroom, only top sheets and I had to call twice to request additional blankets. In the morning while I was showering, they came to ask for the heater back. When i told them that i was unhappy about the heating situation, they laughed it off. Absolutely unacceptable and not one comp was offered. I wish we had just switched hotels but it was late and we had to get our baby & toddler to bed.

The location to the beach, restaurants, train and ferries, was very convenient.

Lovely visit. Nice place to stay.
