"Un hotel de 4 estrellas que en realidad merece 2 o menos. Quería escribir esta reseña honesta, no con la esperanza de que el hotel mejore, ya que no volveremos, sino como referencia para quienes busquen alojamiento en la zona de Birmingham. Es muy raro que dé una calificación tan baja. Originalmente reservamos para una noche, pero decidimos quedarnos dos para alargar nuestra estancia en Birmingham. Intentamos actualizar nuestra reserva en trip.com; sin embargo, solo pudimos hacer otra reserva (mismo hotel, mismo tipo de habitación, con el mismo nombre). Enviamos un correo electrónico al hotel para reconfirmar nuestra reserva y preguntar si podíamos alojarnos en la misma habitación. Tras varios intercambios de correos, nos dijeron que no habría problema. Al llegar para registrarnos, el personal no tuvo en cuenta nuestra petición, a pesar de que les indiqué que nos quedaríamos dos noches. No nos escucharon ni prestaron atención. Notamos que la tarjeta del hotel indicaba que nuestra fecha de salida era al día siguiente, así que fui a recepción para confirmar que no necesitábamos cambiar de habitación y que podíamos quedarnos en la misma ambas noches. En general, el personal de recepción no era ni dinámico ni proactivo. No nos proporcionaron ninguna información (piscina, zona de desayuno, etc.); tuvimos que pedirla. Parecía un hotel de autoservicio, aunque el personal de la zona de desayuno fue amable, lo cual es habitual. Disfrutamos de la piscina, la sauna y el baño de vapor. Estas instalaciones y los vestuarios estaban bien; sin embargo, el personal del club no fue nada servicial. De nuevo, tuve que pedir una toalla para conseguirla. La habitación estaba anticuada, como se ve en las fotos, y necesitaba una reforma. El aislamiento también era deficiente; se oían ruidos en el pasillo. No dormimos bien la primera noche, pero sí la segunda. Un punto a favor: Hay mucho espacio para aparcar."

"The service in the hotel is very poor. When I asked to add a quilt, the waiter showed me a dirty quilt. When I asked to change it, he threw the quilt on the ground and changed the quilt on the ground. The service attitude was extremely poor and the service operation was extremely irregular."

"This hotel is in a really great location, several pubs, restaurants & convenience shops within walking distance. Every staff member was extremely friendly and helpful. The room is basic, but everything was clean. The bed was comfy. Only reason why this wasn’t a 5 star stay was the shower wasn’t very strong, and there was a strange sticky patch on the wall which seemed to be collecting hair."

"Likes to hype its canalside location which is indeed very pretty. Website states unequivocally that food is served until 8pm Friday to Sundays. We were on holiday in a canal boat. They do 4mph flat out so once you choose a pub to aim for, after mid afternoon, you are pretty well committed. We arrived at 7.20pm and all the staff were very surprised that we wanted food since apparently the Landlord always stops serving food at 6pm on Sundays. Obviously 'Landlord' was 'upstairs' and unavailable. My plea that we had relied on their website and now had no way to eat since we could not get to the next or last pub in time was met with verbal shrugs. Lots of apologies but nothing which was helpful. The entirety of the response was that the staff would tell the Landlord, the Internet is not something the staff use and the Landlord uses a website company so it's all somebody else's fault. I fully accept the staff aren't to blame. The Landlord is entirely responsible. Maybe they could have offered us some sandwiches or anything they could rustle up with little effort but alas we were repeatedly told 'sorry but it's the Landlord'. I've no idea what the food is like, but the service is appalling. In the end we managed to get a pizza delivered to the pub car park."
