Crown Hotel Stone

Good parking and easy to find. There was a £100 deposit I had to pay which wasn’t mentioned when booking the hotel. The room was nice but the shower had no water pressure and made it difficult to use.

Ok, good staff but no Internet first night, restaurant closed not so good for business travellers. No relly due to no Internet. First impressions, meh ! They also missedI had asked for breakfast, so overall a bit disappointing. They need to raise their game q bit.

We stayed here about 3 years ago. Very much improved, redecorated &great Christmas decorations. Reception was quick & efficient. Upgraded as my wife & I are in our 80s & disabled. Luggage was taken to our room. Very tidy & clean. Good facilities(coffee & tea.)Comfy large bed. Quiet location, free car parking. Hotel easy to locate.

No heating in hotel rooms and they are freezing, cemtral heating not operating and no portable heating provided, wind blows through room and bathroom windows, TV shows no terrestrial tv, but you could make tea with hot water which is excessively hot

My husband and I went away for a couple of days to visit friends, the hotel had been recommended as was central and easy to get to from the train station within walking distance. I'm not sure where to start with this review? Our experience was totally amazing! The building itself is so very beautiful with the period features along with the culture pieces of the family who run it . As soon as we arrived it was a smooth process checking in and our room was comfortable, any queries or requests we had were dealt with quickly by very polite and attentive staff. We had only booked 2 days and I wish it had been longer, but I would go back again as our short stay created lovely memories. I can't fault the staff in any way as they made us feel so welcome. I'm actually smiling as I write this because we had such a lovely experience. Food is available on request and the hotel has a very beautiful dining area and bar, very spacious and very welcoming. Well let's talk about the disco room .....we sang and danced all night and the staff put music on for us that adapted to our ages ..lol .....any music requests we had were played.....a special thank you to Akhil Raj for the fab tunes and to Jack for looking after us at the bar all night ..a few hangovers were to be had in the morning . So all I can say is thank you to all the staff for providing a 5 star service for your guests......my faith in humanity was restored knowing that you care about your guests and that we are not just a number. I could go on about every detail of our stay ..I'll stop as this may end up being a book. Hats off to Crown Hotel Stone !

Where does one begin? The positives. Stone is a lovely town. It has the River Trent & the Trent & Mersey Canal. The Crown Hotel is a fine building with magnificent function rooms. The negatives are the Crown Executive Suite Rooms. They are apologising for renovation works according to the sign on the reception desk but this wasn't mentioned on the third party independent website. The showers don't work properly. Trying to get hot water is like trying to find gold in the River Trent. The pass cards to my room failed on multiple occasions. It's embarrassing. The wifi dropped out for several hours. There are cracks in the glass to the entrance and exit doors to the suite which are disconcerting. I stayed for 2 nights & the drinking mugs & teas/ coffees were not cleaned or refreshed. Overall a disappointing experience & not worth the money.
