The meal deal. I didn’t want a starter or dessert, so I asked for some chicken breast to go with my main meal which was a salad, I was refused that even though it would have cost less for premier Inn. I was offered the starter chicken goujons chopped up and put on top of the salad, which meant I got the meal deal. I was shocked for it to turn up very overcooked and missing the cucumber, tomato’s & crutons…. Can only imagine how even more disappointing it would have been if I only had the main and that salad turned up missing those items. Anyway, it was awful and left feeling very dissatisfied with the experience. I then went back to the room to have a bath. Room 109. After a few minutes in the bath, the electricity repeatedly kept flicking on and off every 10 seconds. I called the receptionist and she came to my room to check it out, thankfully she was female as I was in my towels as I couldn’t see to wash my hair off. As nice as she was, she told me I had taken the wrong key card and put it in the key slot, which baffled me as I was only ever given one key, so I wasn’t impressed with the wording that it was my fault. Fast forward to breakfast, the cooked breakfast was good, probably because I was starving from the night before! The cereal/condiments area looked really empty, and the cereal in the plastic tubs looked really unappealing - this really does need to be reviewed. Next, Heading back to my room after breakfast and my key won’t let me past reception. After ringing the bell for 10 minutes and waiting for a receptionist to turn up, getting a little frustrated as I had to leave for a meeting, I was told that I had once again picked up the wrong key and it was for the electricity. I informed the lady that this was the key the other lady gave me the night before when I had the issue with the electricity and she took the other one. Again, very frustrated with myself being blamed again for having the wrong key. She made me up another key and off I went to my room. I had every intention of requesting a refund on my way out, all for justified reasons, but there was no one on reception!!! Again!!! As I had to leave for a meeting I simply left. I regularly stay in Premier Inns but after this experience, I’m not so sure anymore.
