Lovely bedroom and en-suite, well equipped for guests. There was good food choices for dinner and breakfast, in quality and quantity. The dining area is spacious and pleasant to be in. The staff are helpful and professional and seem to genuinely want to make it a great visit to their establishment.

Firstly, the staff were excellent. Attentive and friendly. However the food was not great. Starter ok if not a bit bland. A few prawns with dressing in a small pot with two slices of toast. A bit of garnish would have been nice. The roast pork was almost unpleasant with a rather bland taste. Looked like from a processed joint. Vegetables were quite nice. Just a bit disappointed as have had some nice meals here in the past.

Very disappointing food at a high price. Examples - salad main of small handful of rocket with 3 small pieces of feta £15+ Small cube of chocolate brownie with one scoop of ice cream £8.50 2 inch diameter tart with one scoop of ice cream on top £7.50. All commercial food heated in the microwave. Conclusion, poor value for money.

The hotel is in a good location on the edge of the town. The hotel needs a full refurbishment as it is getting a little tired. I was not impressed with the quality of the food at either dinner or breakfast. The cutlery on both ocasions had not been properly cleaned.

Bedroom 6 was quite good. The room was a bit on the small side and there was nowhere to store clothes. We had twin beds which were comfortable with decent bedding. The tea tray was good. There was a proper hairdryer with a big mirror and nearby socket and also a socket by both the beds. The ensuite was a decent size with a good shower and nice towels. the staff were pleasant. However downstairs felt a bit grubby and greasy and smelt of stale food. The breakfast was quite good but they had windows and doors open everywhere and i was really cold .

We had dinner at this pub/hotel. Whilst the ambience and staff were fine, the food was very poor. The lamb had been over stewed and dry and the prawn orzo risotto was tasteless with raw red onion and sitting in water. The food was unseasoned, very basic and badly executed. It should not have passed being bought to the table. One of the most disappointing meals we have had in a very long time. We subsequently fed this back to the manager who said they were trialling new recipes. Our fear is that the problem is more fundamental in the kitchen.

Exceptional stay from start to finish . The rooms were beautifully modernised and great provisions and nice touches in them Staff all went out of their way to be helpful and service was excellent Food in restaurant good. Paul the manager was very helpful and friendly and clearly kept everything running like clockwork

We visited the white hart by chance as we were out for a drive. We called in for lunch and were made very welcome including our two small dogs. We chose the Sausage sharing plate, expecting three or four sausages and were very pleased that the plate contained ten large sausages and four small ones. It was more than we could eat but the dogs helped us out. We would definitely visit again if we are in the area. The staff were very friendly.

Visited for lunch with family. Pleasant atmosphere but service very slow. Had a table booked but we waited over an hour after ordering for our food. Portions were small and food average. Generally a pleasant experience but probably won't rush back. Nothing to complain about but wasn't anything great.
