Victoria Square & the Orangery

We were very disappointed with our stay on September 3, 2024. We booked an upgraded room, “Room 10 Deluxe Garden Level”, with an upgraded rate (the most expensive in the inn). This is in fact a very expensive Basement Room with a view of retaining walls! Rooms 8, 9 & 10 are all located in the basement. As with most basement rooms the air was humid and musty. The inn is aware of this as when we arrived our room had an open window and a dehumidifier running full tilt. We immediately notified the front desk that this room was unacceptable and we requested to be moved within the inn, or refunded for our room rate so that we could find alternative lodging. We were told that a move was out of the question as the inn was fully booked and that the inn’s manager was not available until the next morning. It is three days later and we have yet to hear from the manager. This inn does not deserve its Trip Advisor rating and should be avoided, especially Rooms 8, 9 & 10.

Service at this B&B was wonderful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was okay. Our room #5 was very nice in relation to the bedroom itself, however the pillows were so thin we did not sleep comfortably. The bathroom, however, was absolutely terrible. There was an odor during our entire stay to the point I dreaded to even go in the bathroom. The bathtub is a rolltop tub that is very high off the floor. It would be very easy to slip and fall. The shower curtain surrounds you completely and leaves you hardly any room to move while attempting to take a shower. The curtain sticks to you. The curtain is suspended from the ceiling, and it would be very easy to accidentally pull it down. This must have happened before as we were told to be careful in regard to this. For the price, this is not acceptable. Our stay was barely 48hrs, so we didn't bother to mention our concerns to management as the inn was fully booked so we would not have been able to move rooms. I would stay here again, but I would absolutely avoid room #5.

A beautiful character filled property in a peaceful square, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Stirling and the castle. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and that set the tone for the friendly and helpful hospitality throughout our stay. The breakfasts were a particular highlight and we thoroughly recommend Victoria Square.

Lovely, comfy room and friendly, helpful staff. We only spent one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The bed was extremely comfortable and we made goo use of the fan… one of the few warm nights we encounter. A good breakfast and suggestions/help given to accommodate dietary restrictions. I had been looking for something different for a friend’s birthday and although I had never been to Victoria Square hotel, before I was impressed by the comments already left in TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed! We had the grand afternoon tea, which ticked all the boxes as far as quality, freshness of food, variety and value for money. There was so much, we couldn’t eat it all so we were given a ‘doggy’ box to take cakes home with us. The service from the staff, the surroundings just made the afternoon even more special. I would highly recommend Victoria Square, will certainly be making a return visit!

We only stayed one night but it was an extremely positive experience. The room was lovely with high ceilings, comfortable chairs and bed and was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent. If we come back to Stirling we would definitely stay at Victoria Square.

What a lovely stay- this was the highlight of our trip to Scotland. The staff were incredibly friendly and the place is stunning. The room had everything we needed and cannot wait to go back. The restaurant was incredible definitely a 5 star stay.

Got the grand afternoon tea as a gift and it was delicious. The chef prepared a vegan selection for myself and it was outstanding. I really appreciated the effort the chef went to to ensure my experience was as good as my husband's The staff were very attentive and helpful. Would definitely recommend as it can be tricky to suit both of us. Thank you so much.

I have stayed at Victoria Square a few times now and it is always excellent. Comfortable, clean room, friendly staff and great breakfast. There's even a choice of having a small portion breakfast to save on waste! The location is also good, being within walking distance of town centre and castle.
