Perfect location for a ski in ski out at the base of the ski area. The rooms are clean for the most part. The master bathroom started to smell like sewage the last two days of my stay. My room was on the second floor, not sure if everything started to back up when the hotel got more crowded.

This is perhaps THE most disappointing experience as timeshare owners. This property is in an amazing location for winter skiing, but is old and dated. As heritage Starwood for many years, we have been to many Westin and Sheraton properties, often returning, but we will not return here. The lobby, parking entry, elevator area, and hallways feel like a government office building. Our room was so small and narrow that even my husband complained about it. Most annoyingly, as loyal players in the timeshare game, with lots of unused points, we were shocked when we complained about the tiny room with no terrace and asked to upgrade using points, we got a hard no. We did not enjoy our 5 nights here because we could not sleep while the other wanted to read or watch tv. This property only has studios and 2 bedrooms, no one bedrooms, and the studios are small with no terrace, so beware the property is not comparable to others in the chain. No amount of points and despite it being off season and place is empty, could get them to move us to a better room. And we could see many rooms were indeed still available online. We could look up at all the unused terraces from the pool with the chairs perfectly positioned and could tell oh so many rooms were empty while we crammed into this tiny space. I cannot fathom in the first place why they would give such devotees to the Marriott Bonvoy brand the worst room in the place with views of the roof and no terrace? Meanwhile the pool and hot tub areas were quite nice, though in need of umbrellas. Please look at the picture of what is described as a “Juliette balcony” and you can see why we felt swindled into this room!

It is not cheap to stay here but usually worth the price. We received a room with a view of a wall and when asked to be moved we were told no. They said the top floors were under renovation but we still had to pay premium price. We were not offered any kind of comp.

I have work in the area and am dropping my daughter to start a summer working with a branch of Americorp (Rocky Mountain Yourh Corps). My daughter (a rising junior in college) will be living in the mountains for the next 3-months as a trail conservationist and chain saw/wildfire mitigation team member. I booked a suite at Sheraton Steamboat Springs for us because I have been a Bonvoy loyalist for years. For reference, I am Titanium Elite (and have been Ambassador Elite), and am currently a 3 Star Elite Vistana owner (this property is actually part of my portfolio). I was greeted kindly by the concierge who, once she realized I was an owner and was not traveling with my partner, she quickly lost interest and had little help to offer. If my partner were with me (and we could attend a presentation), she could have offered more help. Hmmmm... (we are already owners at a high-tier level and pay thousands of dollars in annual HOA dues) Considering it is OFF season and this is our first visit to the area - I booked in advance and I requested a room where we might actually get to see a glimpse of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Unfortunately, we have been placed in a second floor room with a tiny balcony on the same level as an adjacent gravel roof with noisy HVAC units and no view (other than the neighboring building). I asked Deb (the concierge) for assistance and she directed me to a front desk representative named Ryland. She let me know that if I had traveled with my partner she would have been able to provide a higher level of assistance (to be clear I am a deed holder who pays HOA fees). Ryland at the front desk advised there was nothing more he could do. I was extremely disappointed. This was intended to be a very special mother-daughter trip before she embarked on this new adventure into public service and environmental conservation. We are trying our best to enjoy this really sad industrial view despite knowing we are surrounded by so much natural beauty. Steamboat Springs is really beautiful, but sitting on a balcony surrounded by HVAC units and gravel is not the quality time I was hoping for when booking at this 'resort' to connect with my daughter during such a meaningful time. We have also found the counter-service restaurant (where you order from a lone bartender and get a number for food delivery to your table) is overpriced and the line for ordering food/drinks was horrendous (perhaps because they had 1 attendant working). So, despite being an 'owner' of this property (meaning I pay HOA dues whether I use it or not) I am beyond disappointed for all the reasons stated above. I travel A LOT and I am switching over to Hyatt. As a first tier Hyatt Discoverist I have experienced FAR superior customer service and benefits than when I was Ambassador or (currently) Titanium Elite with Bonvoy. The Sheraton at Steamboat Springs is a prime example of my level of overall disappointment with Bonvoy (just check out the photos attached). A

I decided to stay here again against my intuition from a horrible experience then. Staff is awful and rude. They don’t offer maid services, if you need an extra towel it’s $15. The food is aweful even if they serve you the right thing. As a person that stays 40-50 nights a year in hotels it’s the worst. Don’t stay here.

Booked as a Marriot member and was given a room in front of the outside ac that was making a huge noise. Tried to deal with the lady at the front desk and was told we could cancel and go to another hotel. Completely unprofessional. Dreadful dreadful service.

This place is stuffy, expensive and inflexible. We used a combination of points and cash 600 buck to meet close friends for a celebration. The hotel had limited handicap parking we had a handicap person in our party. Melanie, who checked us in was gracious and let us use the handicap parking in front of the hotel for the stay. She also gave us extended check out because I am gold which meant i had until 12 pl not the usual 10am checkout. Well, the next morning, they tried to push us out at 10am, luckily I had something in writing because just saying that we had extended checkout was met with prove it. The couldn’t assign a fool to move to at 12, mind you they wanted us out at 10am, so we were told to leave our things at the front desk our in our vehicle! Really? We drove 4 hours to get here and if i could cancel the balance of the stay without penalty I would check out for good at 12. Inflexible, food and drinks are very expensive, and the place is quite stuffy. Has me thinking why am i loyal to Marriott? I heard that Hyatt treats you better. I may, after 30 years, be moving on.

Keys worked only half the time (and no we didn’t put them near our phone). We had to go downstairs every time because they have a policy of not coming to us to look at ID there. They also have a policy of not allowing late checkouts. They also won’t tell you that unless it’s 24 hrs before your checkout time. They also don’t clean your room; which they don’t tell you until you arrive. That was a surprise given the price of the room. Their texting service tells you they are coming up to address an issue, doesn’t come, then texts you again 15 minutes later to ask if it was resolved. This is not a luxury hotel and the service is poor. When you voice a concern- the response is this is our policy; not what can we do to make it right. Their policy is bad service and a mediocre room and facility. Don’t stay here unless it is your last option; which unfortunately it was for us. I can see why they were the only place in town with space.

Loved the facility! Our room looked out over the gondola and triple chair with a great view up the mountain from the balcony that was the full width of the one-bedroom unit. The room was very nice and spacious. All of the staff we met were friendly and helpful. My only complaint concerns something the resort can't do anything about. Since the resort is in the mountain village near the ski slopes, the majority of the shops and restaurants seemed to be closed for the season. That means you have to drive several miles into the town of Steamboat for dining and shopping. The town is great and has a lot to offer but it would be nice to have more within walking distance.
