Newby Bridge Hotel

Perfect one night stay at the Hotel at the end of October. Staff were wonderfully accommodating to our needs (a foot injury and a 3 year old!) resulting in a fabulous upgrade to one of their pods with a jacuzzi. It's our second stay at the hotel and it's a perfect location at a reasonable price for visiting Cumbria Zoo, Ulverston, the Transport Museum and the main reason for our trip - the Steam Railway and Boat trip to Bowness. Breakfast is awesome and as we were staying on their 'Kids Stay free' £100 a night deals we couldn't have asked for more. We will be back!

Just got back from a wonderful two days here. We rented one of the woodland cabins with hot tub and we were really impressed. The staff are very friendly and efficient and we ended up eating at the restaurant both nights because the food was so yummy. We left feeling refreshed and relaxed.

So from the outside the building looks run down, we arrived early and spoke to a helpful lady on reception, we stayed and had a light lunch which was really good. When we checked in later we were disappointed to find our superior room was not that at all. Our lake view was just about visible. The room was dark and in need of an update. The toilet had continuous water running, the extractor fan was extremely loud, the sealant around the bath had black mould patches and also around the sink plug hole. The heated towel rail needed a clean. Every part of the room floor squeaked, as did the four poster bed every time I turned over. The wardrobe door didn’t open but did on its own 10 minutes later! The bar staff were lovely and helpful and the food was pretty good for an evening meal. On checkout, I told the receptionist about the door but it was dismissed as a faulty towers wardrobe, she also said we needed to pay for drinks from the bar which we’d not done as we’d paid for our drinks each time we ordered…I’m surprised you don’t have to show your room key every time you want to add something to the room bill, I’m not entirely sure she believed us when we said they weren’t ours. Unfortunately we didn’t feel the price warranted what we got.

What a beautiful place to stay and we traveled with our doggy who was made to feel as welcome as us, the mangers especially Sylvia were exceptional, very professional supportive & kind they all went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The pub area is immaculate & plenty of space between tables , the waiting / bar staff were friendly & WOW the food is superb we ate here for 5 nights and it was just exceptional. The Room was large with access to the garden , comfortable beds , the cleaning staff kept the room lovely & clean , swimming pool beautiful gardens. Good sized car park surrounding areas beautiful with easy access to Windermere & surrounding places of interest. We were so very impressed we have booked a return stay for longer , honestly the management team & all the staff are simply the best we have met. Don’t hesitate to book.

We took a last minute break after a very busy month upon arrival we were made to feel like long lost friends and spoken to like family Keely the general manager her husband Brian the head chef are excellent as are all the staff .this is a hotel like they used to be where there main aim is that you stay is perfect and it was Excellent accommodation excellent food and wonderful service and surroundings this is a piece of perfection in the Lake District We will be back Thank you to all of you for all the hospitality you showed us

Myself and my daughter stayed for two nights in woodland hot tub cabin It was fabulous! Very private, clean and modern The hot tub was wonderful and so was the log burner We had everything we needed and enjoyed every minute The staff were great as was the food for our evening meals. I couldn’t fault it at all
