«Overall, everything was good except for one issue.
We had booked the hotel for 4 nights, but due to an unexpected emergency, we had to check out one night early. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not provide any refund for the unused night, which amounted to approximately RMB 1,500 (around ₹20,000).
What disappointed me most was the management’s attitude regarding the cancellation request. I also submitted refund requests through Trip.com twice, but both were rejected.

Our stay was excellent and will be remembered in our memory for years to come. «Stay was very good. Location with horticulture garden is only plus point.
Reached there via Google maps and it was direct. Also no steep road.
Restaurant food was good but they have time limitations. if we ask them to order snacks at room at evening they will deny due to either restaurant is closed or dinner time.
Complementary breakfast was good except idly, which were sticky due to i think, less cook time. Room service was good. Suites does not have view but they are very big. »

Firstly, I was given a room in an extension block that seemed to have been built recently. It was modern but lacked the charm and character of a true heritage property. The main building, with its fireplace and historic ambience, was nowhere to be found. This was especially disappointing considering the premium price I paid, comparable to what you'd expect from a 5-star hotel.
The lack of attention to detail continued throughout my stay. When I checked in on a rainy day, I had to walk to the extension block without an umbrella despite the muddy road. The staff seemed unbothered by this inconvenience. Additionally, the room didn't have slippers, and the floor was cold, with no heating available (although they did provide a basic room heater when requested).
To make matters worse, I had to call the front desk to confirm my room for the second day, which should have been done automatically as part of their standard procedure. This lack of efficiency only added to my frustration.
The toiletries were also woefully inadequate, with only basic soap and shampoo provided. Power cuts were frequent, and I had to notify the front desk each time, which seemed like a hassle the hotel should have anticipated.
The breakfast buffet was uninspiring and lacked flavour. To make matters worse, I had dinner at their restaurant, which was rated top in Ooty, but my experience was average at best. To add insult to injury, they got our order wrong, substituting Nasi Goreng (fried rice) with Mee Goreng (fried noodles). When I brought this to their attention, they made no effort to compensate for the mistake.
In conclusion, Hotel King's Cliff fails to live up to its reputation as a heritage property or even a 2-star hotel. The overpricing and lack of attention to detail make it a poor choice for travellers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Ooty.

The property is good to stay clean and well maintained, but no restaurant except breakfast, city restaurants are too far auto charges 700 rs return for 3.5 km that is too much, zomato and Swiggy is there, less option of restaurant for vegetarians 2 to 3 only,rest all is good no complains, room 101 should have tinted view glass for privacy reasons, that should be taken care off immediately, request to owner to open restaurant as well for guest atleast . staff is very well trained and behaved thanks 👍

The hotel is located in a very good location. Veg and Non veg good options available around. Easy access to Commercial road. Room is old styled, TV was not working. Hot water was available in the morning only. Breakfast was not included. Hotel needs be worked on facilities they provide.
