Redfish Riverside Inn

We traveled to Stanley, Idaho to hike. RedfishRiverside Inn was perfect for us as it was close to trailheads and when we were done hiking we could enjoy the Salmon River from our deck. The unit had everything we needed and was nice and clean when we arrived

We booked here because the Redfish Lake hotel was full but were glad we did because we think this is a better location. The hotel is close to the local store and restaurant and easy access out to different locations of interest. The staff were very friendly. We had the Osprey Suite which has a great private deck with great views over the river and hills and we watched a Bald Headed Eagel and Northern Buzard catch their meals in the river and fields. The room itself looks like it is a bit of an ad hoc addition to the existing building and could do with a bit of better finishing. There is difference between rustic charm and a bodge job. Although we didn't see any of the other rooms the overall impression is that they are probably to a better standard. It is a pity because with some better finishing and layout in the room including some comfortable seating it would be great. If I was just rating the room it would probably be 2 star but the overall location, the dech and friendlyness of the staff makes it a 4 star.

I/We usually camp when heading to the mountains/Stanley-so this was a nice treat. We stayed in #24 on the "mountain side". It was a lovely (albeit short) overnight stay, but we loved it. Instead of going out while in town this time-we stayed in, nibbled on local takeout, and watched football. Woke up in the morning and had some pastries and coffee from the bakery-while sitting on the deck and watching the sun highlight the Sawtooth's beautifully. The only thing that would make the visit better- is if the town (in general-especially Mountain Village) would get on board with federal regulations for service animals as none of the Mountain Village properties are friendly (nope-not even with legitimate service dogs) and so I didn't even go there with Redfish as #24 is specifically listed as "absolutely no animals". So, to be fair to them-they likely don't allow animals on the second floor due to noise and I did not ask them to bring my service animal. #24 was the only available at my time of booking so I found arrangements for the pups as it was just two nights away. I would highly recommend staying-it was clean, quiet, and gorgeous views. Make sure to sit out on the deck wrapped up in a blanket with a local pastry and latte to maximize your experience.

Exceptional hospitality in a gorgeous setting! My friend and I needed a day to rest between backpacking weeks. What a great find this was! We were alerted when our room was ready (early, as it turns out), warmly welcomed, and then contacted to be sure everything was in good order. We stayed in the adorable Rangers Cabin and loved it: two large beds, lots of room, kitchen, large modern bathroom. Though it was not on the river, we had only to cross the road and sit on a deck reserved for guests only. From there we enjoyed the river and cows roaming across the way. Very relaxing. When we needed some extra assistance, they bent waaaaaay over backward to help us. Way beyond expectations. We loved this place!

Wonderful experience staying here! We loved relaxing on the deck overlooking the river. The room was comfortable and had a little kitchenette so we had everything we needed. We slept with the window opened and were lulled to sleep by the sound of the water.

These cabins are super cozy, clean and in easily one of the most beautiful places you could ever go! Everything in Stanley is easily walkable and absolutely wonderful. The Host was extremely helpful and gave great communication throughout our trip.
