I Resort Beach Hotel & Spa

My wife and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate her birthday. Due to problems at Athens airport, we arrived late, check-in was simple and we were given a sea view room. The room was large, it had a large bed, TV, safe, fridge (soft drinks), coffee machine, dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries, hairdryer, very modern shower with various settings and a bottle of wine with two glasses. The bathroom sink was unusual as it did not have mirror or held the water thus making a wet shave difficult. As it was low season, there was only the buffet restaurant and the main bar that was open. There was plenty of choices with the food and drinks. The service was excellent and attentive, especially by Stella who kept everybody’s glasses filled. The staff were friendly and the housekeeping team kept the hotel in tip top condition. Karina was the Animator who organised her daily sports and social activities, the best one for us was the Folklore dancing team. The hotel had a modest gym consisting of running machines, bike, cross trainers and a multigym that I used daily in the morning. Due to the low season, the town was deserted and shops closed, it was like a ghost town. We enjoyed our walks in town and along the empty beach. This was our first visit to Crete and we enjoyed it, we met some really wonderful people during our stay. I would recommend this hotel and hope to return soon. NB: Each room is charged a tourist tax. Taxi fares can be expensive to/from the airport, so book in advance.

We recently stayed at this hotel for 14 night with B&B, the location is perfect and it is a ultra modern hotel with lots of fancy lights, glass and mirrors, we did enjoy our stay but a few things could be improved on to reach 5 stars. I’ll start in the rooms, very limited storage which for 2 weeks did cause us a problem, we did not go away to watch tv which is just as well as the selection was poor, we would have liked a option of a ice maker on the landing somewhere as the mini fridge didn’t really make any drinks colder, the bed was super comfy for us and we asked for extra pillows and getting comfy at night was not a problem, we stayed on the 3rd floor of the East wing at it was very quiet even while our room looked over the bay and it was stunning. The shower is fine for couples but for friends staying there’s not privacy as it’s just coloured glass and see through! No plug just a granite slopping slab so impossible to fill the sink up if required. As mentioned we stayed B&B and breakfast was at times disappointing for a 5 star hotel, the food was ok, but at times barely warm, certain items was disappointing, a fresh omelette station would have been a big plus, the staff are pleasant enough but to get extra drinks on the breakfast table was always a challenge, the duty manager failed to engage with us at any point even to say ‘good morning’ he would just stand at a counter and stare at people. We thought it would be nice to relax around the main pool but unless we got up at 6:30 am and put towels out that was never going to happen, they do have a very small area on the beach but it’s so closed in and pushed together that really was not for us, so we used the quiet pool (unheated), this was fine but getting loungers was also a issue, my advice to the hotel would be to use a card system for 1 towel and 1 towel only so you can’t get 10 towels and put at each area to suit yourself where you wanted to lay a different times of the day. We didn’t stay in the hotel in the evenings but they had different themes each night we think. Reception staff are excellent Natalia especially always had a smile and was happy to help, the house keeping was also excellent and we could not fault how clean our room was kept, a big thank you to the team. A few people said the evening meals didn’t change but we made the most of the ample restaurants and local tavernas on the road outside to eat, and to get a real Greek feel. Could the hotel get better? Yes of course it could, but would we stay here again? YES, once we settled in and saw how things are it was fine for us!

We have really enjoyed our time here. This trip was our second honeymoon, and we plan to make this hotel our annual holiday destination. The room was beautiful, and the staff was professional and super friendly. We felt welcomed and appreciated from the time we arrived. We booked all inclusive and due to our delayed flight we arrived after dinner. The staff prepared a plate of food for us and we didn't need to look for a restaurant to get something to eat. We will be booking our return trip in the spring.

Great hotel with very attentive staff who are professional and always willing to help. Fantastic cool rooms to retire to after a relaxing day at the pool, comfortable beds, very relaxing to sleep in. My deepest appreciation goes to Wendy and the lovely talented Stella in the aegeo spa. I would highly recommend the cretan massage as it was the most relaxing massage I have had in years, and Stella is a fantastic masseur/physiotherapist who helped to alleviate my aching muscles. I was so impressed by this massage I went back the following day to have the back neck &scalp massage. I also persuaded my son to have the same treatment, and he thoroughly enjoyed his massage. If you are thinking of staying at this fabulous hotel, then i would highly recommend you plan a visit to the spa and lrt wendy and her team take care of yourself.
